LEÓN, Mexico The story of Columba and Jeb Bush began by happenstance in 1971, on the elegant, sun-washed central plaza of this city in the heart of Mexico.
Columba Garnica Gallo was a shy high-schooler, tagging along for a drive with her sister and a new boyfriend from the States. John Ellis Bush was an aimless yanqui blue blood, in Mexico for a couple of months on a program through his New England prep school. He was captivated by the doe-eyed beauty he spotted in the car with his friend.
Destiny and DNA might have foretold that Jeb would make a run for the White House someday, aiming for a job that both his father and brother held. That Columba stands a chance of becoming the first Latina first lady is a more unlikely story.
In Mexico, Columba, now 61, is sometimes spoken of as a real-life Cinderella. There is pride here that the daughter of a local farmer joined one of the most powerful political families in U.S. history.
My life can be defined in one real, powerful way, which is B.C. and A.C.: Before Columba and After Columba, the presumed establishment front-runner for the 2016 Republican nomination tells audiences. I fell madly in love with her literally love at first sight. Whatever I was doing beforehand, I vaguely remember. But my life got really organized after that.

Jeb Bush needs to go away. If he gets the nomination, I will vote for Hitlery. If we are going to crash, I would prefer instant immolation to slow burn.
She has about as much chance of being the next FLOTUS as I do of winning the next Mega Millions jackpot.
Wow the media is pushing Jeb Bush full steam ahead.
The facts of this should be known. Lord knows, I don’t want any more Bushes.
This from the Washington Post? This from a newspaper (and I use the term very loosely), that to date hasn’t lifted one finger to vet Barack Obama?
This is despicable on their part.
There isn’t another organization I despise more than the Washington Post, our nation’s enemies most helpful tool.
This article has one real message: “We want Jeb to beat Cruz”
Sympathetic items in LSM proves that Jeb is their favorite candidate to be defeated easily in the general election; alternatively, they prefer him because there’s hardly a dime’s difference between him and Hillary, so even if he wins, they win, we lose.
Gag me with a flauta.
...so Jebbie can lose to Hillary.
>> This article has one real message: We want Jeb to beat Cruz
TWO real messages: “...to set up a made-for-teevee battle with Hillary!, which (with our help) Herself will win...
"Because we know Hillary will crush him like a bug."
I don’t think this is a very sympathetic article at all. It makes Jeb’s wife look like a lying nasty daughter.
It’s clear she spent a lot of time in this country when she was growing up, much of the time visiting her father and even spending an entire summer working here (illegally). Now she is lying about it. She dropped her father when it was no longer convenient to use him.
Jeb stuck with her when she was stopped at the border smuggling thousands of dollars of clothing. He’s also stuck with the daughter with the drug problem. Bad genes.
Boy, so much lipstick to put on this pig of a story.
