New Yorkers familiar with Baltimore say tensions between police and residentsespecially young people in that cityhave been at a boiling point for years.
"Many of them are not really heard. Their future of course in a place like Baltimore is very tenuous towards success. And I believe they acted out," says retired NYPD Chief Kevin Clark.
Kevin Clark is a retired NYPD Chief and was Baltimore's Police Commissioner. He says factories have left Baltimore, creating poverty and despair.
"It is probably some of the roughest neighborhoods in America. Baltimore has probably one of the most drug-addicted city's in the United States with heroin," Clark says.
Carl Dix, who has led anti-police brutality protests in New York, was raised in Baltimore and says it's a hard life.
"A lot of people growing up with no future and what they get is the police on them 24/7," says Carl Dix of the Stop Mass Incarceration Network.

I am so sick of there BS... I wish the real war would start
Summer’s coming... Kiss your tourist revenues goodbye!! :)
I sense that If NYC...starts to burn the real war will have begun!
Imagine bartenders....trying to cozy up to the rioters.... by offering Chocolate Manhattans ....
I think Sharpton is planning a march from Baltimore to Washington D.C. so.....why not have the war on the front lawn of the White House so O can sit and watch and drink his beer?
Hard to do from a golf course.
New Yorkers are already part of Baltimore’s protests, looting and violence. They are carefully learning how response tactics are being used, how much effort is being put into enforcing orders, and how long it takes to respond to acts.
Sharpton will need his sherpa guide...lamont...to FIND washington D.C. on a MAP!!!
the optics...and the poetry....of an extended Sharpton speech in D.C. will be historic!!
It will be in other sections of NYC.
Yes!. Compared to Baltimore..the NYC protests were almost picnic like.
Let em show up and be retired...singly or en masse!
It did come to NY in the 70s and lots of it. I think that the cops are tougher in NY and dont take crap and everyone knows it.
But it could happen like it did in the 70s.
Harlem is a good example of a town turned around. Today Harlem is beautiful.
I bet he uses a pimped out golf cart
I betting that lots of “activists” from NYC....have been bussed in for the big event in Baltimore.
I don’t care.
NY City is the mecca of post-modern left-progressivism, which only survives, ironically, on the Federal Reserve and the iron-triange of US Government debt and printed money, mediated through Wall Street Banks.
Talk about cognitive dissonance.
Has anyone here been heard in the last couple of decades?
As far as I’m concerned, the whole discord and unrest thing is being orchestrated by people who DO NOT have to live in or rebuild the damaged communities.
Manipulating and USING disaffected people to make a political point is as bad as it gets... yet the USED don’t seem to care.
THEIR tax revenue will NEVER go to that fix because they don’t pay taxes.
Those remote and unprincipled perpetrators who are driving this thing, (you know who I mean), even IF they pay their taxes and I am pretty sure some of them do not, are themselves criminals just as much as the people stealing and breaking.
It’s a national, very calculated and intentionally concerted shakedown agenda by some REAL shakedown artists that the MSM will NEVER expose!
THERE’S a story for some enterprising and professional ‘journalist’ out to make a career for him/herself.... but Nah... THAT would get them expelled from the LIBERAL club!
How’d you intercept Sharpton’s EMAIL to duh Mayor??
