I was shocked to watch our local evening news last nightfor the first time in years (I’d saved it because of a story that had been promoted). Milwaukee seems to be undergoing a crime and violence wave. Living in the suburbs, I’d hardly heard of it!
Wonderful history in your family.
A grand-niece of mine, who is now about 27, attended a Naval Academy summer program while she was in 7th grade. She made it through the PT, and she enjoyed the experience, but she did not pursue any subsequent military options. Probably looked good on her transcript when she attended college, though.
Best of luck to Benjamin. Blessings to your family.
I know. what I said is true, regardless.
The naval academy is maybe 20 to 25 miles away from the Orioles stadium. Those middies were having a day out to see a major league sports event. But the naval base is secure, and there is plenty to do in the surrounding town of Annapolis.
A whiff of grapeshot, as was delivered by Napoleon Bonaparte?
It usually is a good idea for women to steer clear of the service. The problem is that so few young men are man enough to serve in any capacity causing severe personnel shortages. This is no different than the problem Rome had; when young men won’t stand to defend their nation. It is sad.
Oh, I totally agree. IMO, women should not be in the military or in the police force.
So few men are coming forward because of the total war on boys in this country. Schools and other institutions have been striving for years to strip them of their masculinity.
