An extensive study done by the Pew Research Center has yielded some fascinating information regarding the trajectory of world religions over the next four decades.
As of 2010, Christianity was the dominant world religion with roughly 2.2 billion adherents and Muslim's were second with about 1.6 billion adherents. If current demographic trends continue however, Islam is expected to catch up to Christianity midway through the 21st century

Hello! They are leaving the apostate churches in droves. Their belief in the one true GOD has not changed. It is the churches who have changed. Now they must leave or stay trapped in the false religious doctrine being taught by many so called “churches” today. They know the true church.
The apostate churches are not preaching the gospel anymore. But the church needs more money for a new library or gymnasium. Dare I say maybe pastor needs a new Gulfstream. Priorities are lost. The poor in spirit can wait and go to hell until the financial situation improves and financial goals are met.
The true church wants to hear the truth, not some politically correct gospel, being taught from the pulpit by some heretic pastor.
Sorry if the truth p*sses off a bunch of churches and their followers. Better I, a sinner, tell you than Jesus in that day. Though, I walk in darkness and tribulation, I believe in the ultimate promise.
GOD Bless Texas...and the USA.
There is nothing wrong and everything right with touching and feeling IF THE OBJECT OF IT IS CORRECT....
Correct. But when it is all “mushy”- no thanks.
Christ never promised it would be easy or that it would make you popular.
Per the Catholic church, around 200 million Christians were killed last year, mostly by Muslims.
a. This ‘study/poll’ is from PEW and Yahoo. *Rolleyes*
b. Many of us have left our CHURCH due to the acceptance of gays and all the other cr@p masquerading as ‘The Word’ these days, but we haven’t left God. Huge difference. HUGE.
c. I call B.S. - It’s Agenda FIRST with these dopey leftist ‘fantasies.’
d. I ain’t scared. I’m right with God. :)
“Per the Catholic church, around 200 million Christians were killed last year, mostly by Muslims.”
What? Really? Yikes. You’d think THAT would be all over the nightly news. /s
You post it uncritically, you own it.
(it is not a poll)
Those figures exist because a poll was taken.
If you believe Americans are too stupid or weak to confront what is being written and are not able to discern bias then that is your opinion. I disagree. I think good Americans and good Christians should be aware of what is being written and be able to analyze what is true and what is false.
Really? Then why did you not bother to analyze what was true and what was false, yourself? Why didn't you show you had the balls to confront liberal bias in those stats and show you were capable of any amount of discernment?
I'll tell you why -- it's because you accepted what the liberal article said hook, line, and sinker, giving a platform to the lie, and now you are hiding behind the skirts of the author.
Christians in name only...
Islam has one BIG advantage... if someone decided to leave the 'religion' - they kill that person.
This should surprise no one. The great Apostasy is only beginning. When the Muslims take over, the real persecution begins. The devil’s left and right hands will inflict great damage on those who remain before He returns. Better that I won’t see that day.
When the churches stand something people stay.
People want to be challenged. I'm ok, you're ok may sound nice but it gives us nothing to strive for.
It also is not true. Most of us know deep down that we could stand some improvement. Some times we can stand a lot of improvement.
People reject the lie.
It’s not just politics. When you want to really understand something, you need to grasp the diffificult. Solving easy math problems many times doesn’t help you grasp the difficult concepts. Easy grace cannot eclipse the struggle with sin and the fear of God. So, I think that we need a Church that incorporates difficult aspects along with salvation and eternal life.
Did not mean to imply we were staying silent, I said we are digging in, like for the long haul, work for the night cometh when no man will work.
Yes and few be who go there in, even so come quickly Lord Jesus.
Yes sad but so very true.
BULL!
Chruch after church, is turning away from morals.
Usually for the money.
Well I would say as rejoinder, Caesar never will be the church so if you want to look at issues of Christian grace (as opposed to common grace) you don’t point to Caesar and moralize.
It was never God’s plan to be a terrorizing monster, which sometimes people who wanted Him to be a terrorizing monster to avenge them found to be quite disappointing (cf. Jonah).
