A woman has testified that Tamerlan Tsarnaev’s wife texted her the day of the 2013 Boston Marathon bombings to say as far as she knew, her husband was at home at the time of the attacks.
Gina Crawford is the best friend of Katherine Russell, Tamerlan’s wife. She testified Monday for the defense in the federal death penalty trial of Tamerlan’s younger brother, Dzhokhar.
The brothers committed the bombings together. Dzhokhar was convicted of all 30 charges against him, and jurors will decide whether to sentence him to life in prison or to death. Tamerlan was killed days after the bombings. …

The facts point to unimpeachable evidence he was present at the bombings and placed them.

I never understood why they didn’t charge her, as well. She clearly knew all about it, since he didn’t make much of a secret of his activities. IIRC, it was mentioned at one point that she had considered participating.
However, for some reason, the authorities didn’t follow up on this, and she’s spent the entire trial manufacturing things to support him. Obviously, not very convincingly...
If I remember correctly there were photos of both brothers in the crowd that day. This witness lied.
Horsefeathers! There’s video of both of those creeps, wearing backpacks, walking around deciding where to place the bombs and sneak away.
Normally this is known as hearsay and competent lawyers,prosecutors, and Judges do not even all it into their court.
