United States Supreme Court Brief submitted in opposition to Homosexual Marriage
US Supreme Court Brief ^ | 3-27-15 | Barwick and Faust

Posted on 04/27/2015 8:49:23 AM PDT by mom of young patriots

This excerpt starts on page 37 of the brief:

Regardless of how this Court chooses to rule, we want the children of gay parents who come after us to know that they mattered. They were worth speaking up for. They are not simply part of the cost of doing the political business of the day or “acceptable casualties” so that we can all prove to be allies of the LGBT community, and pat ourselves on the back for being “progressive.” No. We love our parents and we know that they do too. But they have lost something precious. And we will not join the chorus of those celebrating the loss of their parent, or the destruction of the home they once shared with both mother and father, as a “triumph of civil rights.” We are willing to risk jobs, friendships, reputations, and even relationships with our beloved family members to state the painfully obvious fact that, though they love their gay parent, the same-sex-headed household involved great personal loss for children raised under them. Despite how well- intentioned the “two moms” or “two dads” may be, this court should be careful about elevating the choices of adults which deny a child a relationship with their mother or father. When gay couples have “equal access” to the institution of marriage it means that children will not have “equalaccess” to parents influencing and raising them the way nature intended. This Court must either side with adult desires or side with children’s rights. But it cannot do both.

“We are willing to risk jobs, friendships, reputations, and even relationships with our beloved family members to state the painfully obvious fact that, though they love their gay parent, the same- sex-headed household involved great personal loss for children raised under them.”

Kinda reminds me of another group of people who pledged their lives, fortunes and sacred honor for a cause they felt was worthy.

There are 3 separate briefs filed by a total of 6 people who were raised in homosexual homes, but are standing in opposition to granting homosexuals the right to a legal marriage. Their accounts are very powerful and some mention the character assassination and personal abuse they have suffered for speaking out. They each offer a unique perspective and strong arguments. If you have the time and interest, I suggest reading all 3.

If they’re given the power, which is the direction we’re heading, homosexuals will be just like Muslims under the Mahdi, giving us exactly two choices: Submit or die. But the die thing can work two ways, however.

The big blab on yahoo today is that ginsberg already has stated her position in favor of it.

Shouldn't she recuse herself because she obviously won't be impartial to the presentations of the case.

She won't, of course. So much for the checks and balances part of the government.

I never cease to be shocked when Libs’Progressives always shout ‘it’s for the children’ when we all know it is ALWAYS ABOUT THE ADULTS.

I’m sick of being told that I must love or hate an entire demographic minority based on a single characteristic. A liberal friend pointed out that T. E. Lawrence, a man I greatly admire, was most likely homosexual. I said that he may have been, but it wasn’t all that he was. They accuse of of being simplistic, but you cannot define humanity based upon sexual proclivities, skin pigmentation or cultural orientation. THAT is bigotry in its most fundamental form.

I agree that the sum of a person isn’t some single characteristic or preference. But anyone with any experience with gays has to realize that it’s a defect, a wrong pathway in the mind, an error in development.

However superb in their fields people like T. E. Lawrence were, that single defect damaged them and the people around them. In the end, this single defect causes the end of their genetic line. They are the dead branches on their family tree.

The children are vulnerable and the homosexual-enabling liberals in society are allowing them to be used.

I am fine with people doing anything they want with anybody. It’s their business. I have two caveats, though. They cannot harm another unknowing or unconsenting person and they can’t damage society by twisting public opinion and legislation. If homosexuals are just living their lives and not engaging in activities to violate either of those conditions, then I have no objections.

The pertinent question is as follows: Will the homosexuals on the Supreme Court recuse themselves?
