Wasn't it precious for McConnell to vote for her? He wanted to show his support for those Gop-e Senators who fell on their swords for the DC establishment. Very brave, Mitch- considering you're not up for re-election for 6 years.
They already had 56? votes, so Hillary said, “What difference does it make”?
Funny how they never noticed all those times Obola voted “present.”
. . . at this point.
Ted should have been there to vote no IMO, but what else was he doing?
I am just not the fan of Cruz as some here are.
John Cornyn voted FOR the vote, then knowing she had enough votes, voted against her.
Lynch was confirmed 56-43, five months after Obama nominated her.
Cruz had already observed the prior votes and was aware of what the vote would be.
Okay, so it wasn't 56-44. Damn you Ted! /Sarcasim
They had their 56 traitors lined up, including these Democrats in R jerseys
Ayotte
Flake
McConnell
Kirk
Johnson
Portman
Cochran
Collins
Graham
All that matters on a motion like this is the number of “Aye” votes. If he had to go take some appointments or make some calls that could help his campaign, then more power to him. Symbolism is nice when you have lots of extra time, but when you are running for office every second of the working day is tightly scheduled.
I understand that— and frankly, at times, I have had my concerns.
But, this is a guy, on at least 3 occasions, has gotten up on the Senate floor and said to the other guys— ‘you’re crooks, both parties’- These speeches are on YouTube, if you want links, let me know.
In my years, I’ve never seen that before...and that deserves my allegiance-— unless and until, I learn otherwise.
VERY DISSAPOINTED IN TED!
As a Texan I must ask him,
Had he been at the Alamo, would he have not fought till the end?
Would he have bailed on Fannin at Gonzales?
VERY DISSAPOINTED!
Yes, and that’s the primary reason I support Sen.Cruz— he’s the only politician I’ve ever seen that reveals those tricks to the public.
OH brother !
The real vote was the cloture vote. At this point, it was a dog and pony show.
I agree...he should have been there to vote no.
I have to say, I’m just not a fan of pol’s running for office while they’re supposed to be doing their current job ... as in if you’re a sitting governor and spend very little time in your state. Or if you’re a senator or congress critter and you don’t show up for votes. I don’t think it reflects well on the politician who doesn’t find a way to do their ‘currently’ elected job.
You forgot
Alexander
Burr
Capito
Corker
Cornyn
Gardner
Hatch
Roberts
Rounds
Thune
Tillis
Is that you, Mr. Dewhurst??? How’s retirement??? -:)
My problem is the last few generations all get rich themselves greatly as they sell America down the river for a seemingly personal wealth enhancing bribe (donation to foundation or speech).
