It always does, given time.
There was an article on FB this morning about drilling off of SC and several people from the gulf coast commented on how bad things still are there. Who to believe?
Oil is “organic”, afterall!
It could have been a lot worse, that’s for sure.
They were probably trolls paid by the Sierra Club.
Earth always has had a certain quantity of crude oil leaks and has also had ways of dealing with the consequences besides just rolling over and dying.
And a very short time.
Idiots are incapable of comprehending that earthquakes release petroleum from under the sea even when humans aren’t drilling. There is an ecosystem of creatures that consume it.
Read “Two Years Before The Mast”. In it you have a sailing ship running into what is clearly a patch of oil. Before the industrial revolution was fully underway.
The BP spill was a tiny little drop compared to what Sadam Hussein pumped into the Persian Gulf. No frantic, hand wringing effort was mounted to clean up the Persian Gulf, but in a few years it was fully recovered.
You’ll find plenty of greenies to tell you how horrible things really are. The only solution is to give them total power over your life and all of your money.
To this day attorneys are trying to find plaintiffs who will claim they were harmed by the spill. I received a letter yesterday informing me that I must file a claim immediately to receive the tens of thousands set aside for my benefit. Truth is, I cannot discern any harm from the spill. My business grew during that time and has continued to do so.
Liberals still complain about the damage done by the Embridge pipeline break here in Michigan in 2010.
In reality they got a lucky break with a very warm winter which promoted the growth of natural oil eating microbes. Also the dams along the Kalamazoo river that the liberals want torn out prevented the oil from rushing downstream to lake Michigan in a day or two.
There are still spots were a little oil may be found in the soil but in a few more years those will be gone too. Lots of natural seeps in southern Michigan anyway.
Commercial over-fishing relented for a few years and stocks of every critter have rebounded from that. The oil spill gave them the opportunity to not be over-fished or harvested. Plenty to eat. Plenty to mate. Plenty result.
Can you really say that Nature healed itself and there was no damage when thousands of people worked for years to mitigate the effects? I’m certain that no one believes that the conditions would be as well improved as they are now without proactive intervention.
Hey, oil is natural and organic. Why is that bad.
So were the Pigford farmers. Far more got handouts than should have.
It has been shown time and time again that many of the methods used to “intervene” in an oil spill actually aggravate and harm the environment.
Gaia may not recover as quickly as we want, but when we get involved with pressure washers, detergents, hot water, dispersants, etc. we manage to practically destroy the entire eco-system in the process.
On the “surface” it looks good because you can’t see oil any more, but the reality is that we have actually caused more harm than good in the long run.

Oil is a natural mineral in the ocean and most likely spills stimulate fisheries.
Pray America is waking
