Can you really say that Nature healed itself and there was no damage when thousands of people worked for years to mitigate the effects? I’m certain that no one believes that the conditions would be as well improved as they are now without proactive intervention.

It has been shown time and time again that many of the methods used to “intervene” in an oil spill actually aggravate and harm the environment.

Gaia may not recover as quickly as we want, but when we get involved with pressure washers, detergents, hot water, dispersants, etc. we manage to practically destroy the entire eco-system in the process.

On the “surface” it looks good because you can’t see oil any more, but the reality is that we have actually caused more harm than good in the long run.

Oil is a natural mineral in the ocean and most likely spills stimulate fisheries.

Nobody said there was no damage.
They said that spills happen all the time (even naturally) and that nature cleans them up all by itself.

Be honest about the positions of others.
