Iranian Warships Arrive Near Yemen Comes just days after U.S. announced it would send its own warships A fleet of Iranian warships arrived near the southern coast of Yemen on Wednesday in a move likely to add greater tension in a developing U.S.-Iranian standoff in the region, according Iranian military leaders.
Just days after the United States announced it would send its own warships to Yemen in order to prevent Iran from smuggling weapons to terror forces fighting there, a flotilla of Iranian destroyers docked in the same area.
Irans military moves are likely to increase tensions between the two countries as each seeks to bolster opposing sides in the fight currently unfolding in Yemen.
An Iranian fleet including a destroyer warship and a helicopter-carrying warship arrived in the waters off the southern tip of Yemen on Wednesday, according to Iranian state-controlled media.
The warships will protect [Irans] cargo ships and oil tankers against pirates, according to Irans Fars News Agency.
The United States and other countries fear Iran is using these cargo ships to deliver weapons and other deadly hardware to opposition forces in Yemen.
The Iranian warships will remain in the area for at least three months, according to Fars.
Iranian military officials have been defiant about the countrys presence in the region, vowing to remain there despite pressure from other countries.
This presence [of Iranian warships] continues in the free waters, including the Gulf of Aden, to fight against piracy according to the plan which was drawn at the request of the International Maritime Organization and no one can warn the Iranian warships (to move away) and this has not happened yet, Iranian Navy Commander Rear Admiral Habibollah Sayyari was quoted as saying in the Iranian press over the weekend.

Obama will do ZIP. It was all a stunt. If it was 1941 and the Japanese hit Pearl Harbor—Obama would say the Japanese need more money and jobs—not war. No one wants Boots on the ground! All the money is needed for welfare projects and his rich buddies.
Don’t forget the rest of that story. Reagan ordered the sinking of two Iranian drilling platforms and at least one other surface ship as well as raking the Persian shoreline and damaging about half their navy. But now we have the Grand Kenyan who doesn’t even have Bogie’s balls.

I wonder what he’s going to say when Putin makes his move on Eastern Europe? Just a matter of time IMO.
I really fear for our men there. Iranian ships head for shore in Yemen, what do we do?
His failed foreign policy of ignore the world and be isolationists is making the world even more dangerous with more people dying and fleeing their homes.
This is a lesson for those who pretend to be republicans.
It’s a failed foreign policy and does not bode well carrying on Obama’s failed policy expecting a different result.
She was back in operational service in 13 months.
And, the Iranians paid a very, very high price.
Thank satanallah no one questions his mudslime faith!
Tonkin Gulf II
...Obama would vow to track down the pilots who did this and bring them to justice.
Don't you mean the Germans?
Wonder how many Israeli subs are there.
“a flotilla of Iranian destroyers docked in the same area.”
Docked?? Yikes!
She survived Leyte Gulf, an Iranian mine sure as well won’t be sinking her.
It is nothing but saber rattling for so the press can report on how tough Obunghole is being.
Not sunk, but definitely disabled.
Wonder what that traitor’s up to? Is he planning on ordering our sailors to abandon ship so the Iranians can seize the flotilla and then turn the guns on the bobbing lifeboats? Oh, the bubbly would flow in the White Hut after that little coup!
And that would explain this: Saudi coalition ends Yemen air war, US urges talks, 22 April
It sure would and looks very suspicious. A little while ago, Fox Business reported that Saudi Arabia was resuming bombing raids, so the situation is confusing to say the least.
Fox’s web site, their Business Channel and Shep Smith @ noon PDT, said that the Saudis are back to bombing the terrorists in Yemen.
At least they could fire back if they were attacked.
I doubt if our sailors can do anything if fired on by Obozzo’s buddies.
