Just back from an R/T via St. Louis to Atlanta. Spent the weekend there; visited Warm Springs, FDR’s winter retreat and saw the room where he died. Then went to Andersonville where there was this horrible Civil War prison camp for Union soldiers. It had a POW museum where artifacts from US soldiers in WW1/WW2/Korea/Vietnam were made by them. Haunting.
Sounds like an interesting trip. I, too, have been to Warm Springs. It was interesting. As is the story of him and the lover he had there. Can’t remember her name.
Andersonville had to be a hard one. Sort of like visiting Dachau in Germany, which I have visited. Broke my heart.
