An American aircraft carrier and its warplanes are shadowing an Iranian convoy approaching Yemen, as the U.S. beefs up its presence in the region -- but back in Washington, officials can't seem to agree on why.
Pentagon sources confirmed to Fox News that the USS Theodore Roosevelt is tracking the Iranian convoy, and also launching F/A-18 Hornets to conduct "manned reconnaissance" of the estimated nine Iranian ships.
Those ships are suspected of carrying weapons to rebel fighters in Yemen.
But State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf insisted Tuesday that the U.S. ships were "only" there to "ensure the shipping lanes remain open and safe" -- and "not to do anything in terms of those Iranian ships."
She blasted "misreporting" that asserted U.S. ships were prepared to intercept Iranian vessels.

Does anyone else hate Harf’s face and condescending attitude, so prevalent in this administration. Psaki is a meatball but at least courteous and respectful. The IRS head, well I cant wait for Cruz to fire him, Lois is already comfortably retired....and the aircraft carrier will make sure the Iranian ships get to drop off their weapons safely

The Israelis will attack Iran and take out its nuke weapons capability before the Russian-provided (and manned) S-300/SA-10 missiles are operational. And my guess is it will be a combined air, land, & sea operation, with airborne/special forces on the ground. Netanyahu of course can no longer count on the U.S., so they’ll go it alone, as best they can without our air refueling, AWACS/AEW, and logistics support.
All Israel needs to do is irradiate the grounds above and around the facility. One more Chernobyl or Fukushima won’t hurt mama Earth. One or two dirty bombs will do the trick. Easy Peasy.
The talking headache from the white mosque admitted that they have no rules of engagement yet. Just an expensive boating club I guess.
My guess is that the Saudis and/or the Gulf States will provide the refueling.
All they have to do is wait until US ships are nearby and torpedo a couple of Iranian vessels and fire a rocket or two at the US Navy.

Obama is probably tired of waiting for them to get nuke weapons, so he's ordered the carrier group to offload their inventory.
Two birds with one stone! He diminishes our nuke inventory and gives his buddies what they want!
