Two years ago, Army Gen. Martin E. Dempsey, the nations top military officer, laid down an edict on the Obama administrations plan to open direct land combat jobs to women: If women cannot meet a standard, senior commanders better have a good reason why it should not be lowered.
Today, the Dempsey rule appears to have its first test case.
The Marine Corps just finished research to see if female officers could successfully complete its rigorous Infantry Officer Course.

I think we need to go to the U.N. to demand a treaty where all countries agree to take it easy on women in war. If a man goes up against a woman in combat, perhaps he should have to put one hand behind his back to fight her.
So long as we get China, Russia and ISIS to promise not to take advantage of weaker female Marines I say we go for it.
