Why not just raise taxes on water 100%?

That way people will stop using it so much.

There, I fixed the problem. :)

Water usage in California breaks down to 80% for farming, 10% for commercial use, and 10% for residential use.

Funny how California expects all the water savings to come from the 10% of water used by residential customers. This while they allow the equivalent of 40% of the annual water used in the state to run off into the ocean.

The city of Folsom, 30 miles east of Sacramento, could have to cut its water use by 35 percent, even though it has paid millions of dollars to store enough water for its residents during the drought.

Looks like Folsom is learning Lesson # 1 about liberal governance -- If you save, live within your means and plan for the future, you are simply setting yourself up to have your assets seized for use by those who haven't saved, lived within their means or planned for the future.

You know what is really chapping my hide is this Tiered system. It totally f’s you over when you have a family. Each home is allocated a certain amount of services mandated by the government. It is based on 1 person living in your home! I have 4 to 5 at times living in my home so I get nailed in this tiered scam.

When in the AF, I was working on projects that required training at SUN Microsystems and other hi-tech places.

I thought it strange that vacant lots were meticulously maintained and even had berms about 4' high and 10' wide totally surrounding them and the berms were some really nice displays of lush, well-watered grass that was also meticulously mowed and edged.

I was told that ordinances required that type maintenance and it became even stricter once the business was built on the lots.

Kind of ironic that they have water problems - I wonder if some of the requirements for businesses to use all that water, to maintain storybook appearance, will be lifted...
