Water usage in California breaks down to 80% for farming, 10% for commercial use, and 10% for residential use.

Funny how California expects all the water savings to come from the 10% of water used by residential customers. This while they allow the equivalent of 40% of the annual water used in the state to run off into the ocean.

Starting with total use less 40% because we're told that the junk fish rescue will not abate and even more old dams will be disappeared (while the state talks about new, dry, reservoirs down stream where the water is not);
That works out to 6% each for commerce and people, 28% or so for agriculture (which really is suffering, pistachios aside), and 60% equivalent for trash fish, plus another cut for indian tribes and eco-freaks' salmon fetish.

According to my utilities bill I've cut water use by almost 35% through 2014...2015 ought to be a real thrill.
Maybe unrelated, but only yesterday Ms. N commented on the high level of water running down the L.A. River & into the harbor.

Not true. Somewhere in those figures, a large portion is flushed away towards the ocean because of environmentalist lefties. Millions of gallons of water wasted, supposedly to encourage fish to prosper. Only thing is, after several decades the fish are not prospering. Wasted water. Those millions of gallons of water wasted daily are ignored in the water usage stats, and are sorely needed for farmers let alone residents. Greenies should be tarred and feathered and composted.
