Thanks for the Ping Publius!

Ping to Sarah's Amazing List!

Sarah lays it all out.

What is the name of our Country?

The United States of America.

A Country made up of States, the Federal Government is suppose to be made through consent.

Why A Convention Of States Is Safe

Safe?

As opposed to permitting a radical islamist in chief do his level best to destroy the US and most of the civilized world?

ITs always nice to have options.

The Founding Fathers knew that.

And, what if, a constitutional convention is called, and the delegates disregard their instructions from the legislature?

What safeguards will be in place for parts of the Constitution not to be tinkered with?

One new amendment will do it all:

“No law, regulation or policy applied to corporate entities will include application to the terms “person” or “individual,” but those terms shall be applied solely to unincorporated natural human beings. Clear distinction shall be made in all laws between unincorporated natural human beings, and incorporated human beings. Lack of said clarity renders any law, regulation or policy void. No corporate privilege shall be referred to as a “right” in any government publication, but shall be addressed by the full term “corporate privilege.”

Once a constitutional convention is called, they can do whatever they like. The last one certainly did.

But whatever they do is meaningless unless it’s ratified by the states. So the real question is what assurances do we have that the states’ ratifying process will honestly reflect the will of the people?

I think the states will see the beauty of this “Convention of States.” The Federal Government has been sucking money out of the states with unfunded mandates and costly regulations taking state treasuries to the limit. They should see this as the path to economic freedom from the Federal yoke.

The Founders included a way to keep the federal government in check. It's called the Tenth Amendment

Not to suggest I’m smarter than Mark Levin or Gov. Palin on this issue but I would simply remind people that nobody had the slightest notion that the gathering called to amend the Articles of Confederation would end up with the delegates completely throwing out the Articles and taking a bow towards a new Constitution.

Number 1 • The applications that the State legislatures are passing right now, define the topics to be addressed at the Convention. Anything beyond that scope is ‘out of order’.

Just curious what topics the states that have passed bills have included to be addressed. Do they all have to have the same language before a convention can be called?

EDIT:
“You realize, of course, that a Constitutional Convention requires the approval and cooperation of the Federal Government you’re trying to neuter.”

I was afraid i wasn’t very clear. A CC would be the second option.
First, or i should say this is our last chance, to dismantle the OVERREACHING part of the Federal Government. IRS,DOE,UN Welfare...on and on.
Actually, the only way a CC would work is with a weakened, more compliant, Federal Government.

My guess is we will continue to spiral downward. Not even a Cruz can save us now. Although, i am willing to give it a shot.
If we do continue to spiral downward some, how many is the question, will resort to the last option.

The problem is that our state governments have also grown too large .. too corrupt .. too incompetent.
