Our Founders wisely created the option of the Convention of States in the Constitution as a tool in case the federal government came to disregard the will of the people. Now some pundits are using scare tactics to misrepresent the Convention and what it could do to the U.S. Constitution.(Sarah Palin Channel)
"Ive happily been advocating that America call a Convention Of States to propose amendments to rein in the Federal government.""This is an option that our founders gave us in Article V of our constitution."
"They gave us Article V as an ultimate security check just in case the Federal government ever grew too large .. too corrupt .. too incompetent"
"The time for this idea is now!"
"Thats why State legislatures around the country are voting on legislation calling for a Convention Of States."
"I first came to understand the need for a Convention Of States when I read my friend Mark Levin, whose best-selling book is The Liberty Amendments.""It convinced me that the Convention Of States is the last recourse for Americans to rein in our out of control Federal government, because D.C. will never fix itself!"
"Everytime I bring up this topic critics start painting this scary picture of what might happen if we call a Convention Of States.""Their biggest criticism is a fear that the delegates might disregard the purpose of the Convention and rewrite the entire Constitution"
"Let me put their minds at ease."
"There are four reasons why a Convention is safe."
Number 1 The applications that the State legislatures are passing right now, define the topics to be addressed at the Convention. Anything beyond that scope is out of order.
Number 2 State legislators send Convention Commissioners who are subject to instructions given by their State.
Number 3 Lets just say for the sake of argument that reasons number one and number two failed. If they did, the Courts could declare their actions void.
Number 4 Whatever amendments the Convention proposes will not take effect until three-fourths of the States ratify them.
"Thats 38 States. By definition, if 38 States agree on an amendment its not runaway. Its a mandate!" Sarah Palin
"We already have a runaway Congress and a runaway President."
"The founders gave us Article V of the Constitution to stop them."
"Its time to use it!"
"Checkout ConventionOfStates.com, where you can send a petition to your State legislator and sign up to be a volunteer.""I do encourage you to get involved. It is time."
Article V ping. Mrs. Palin is on board.
yes indeed....our founders gave us a method for taking our country back
Ping to Sarah's Amazing List!
Sarah lays it all out.
What is the name of our Country?
The United States of America.
A Country made up of States, the Federal Government is suppose to be made through consent.

Yes we stand with Ted Cruz,
Because D.C. can’t fix it’s self..
I’ll bet Ted Cruz is not far behind!
Safe?
As opposed to permitting a radical islamist in chief do his level best to destroy the US and most of the civilized world?
ITs always nice to have options.
The Founding Fathers knew that.
It’s almost prophetic, and see into the future in how wise our founding fathers really were, it’s as if God guided them on this path by his invisible hand.
Wonderful!
What safeguards will be in place for parts of the Constitution not to be tinkered with?
Number 4 Whatever amendments the Convention proposes will not take effect until three-fourths of the States ratify them.
And, what if, a constitutional convention is called, and the delegates disregard their instructions from the legislature? What safeguards will be in place for parts of the Constitution not to be tinkered with
Does anyone have the current status of the number of states that are in and what the nose counting is for the rest?
One new amendment will do it all:
“No law, regulation or policy applied to corporate entities will include application to the terms “person” or “individual,” but those terms shall be applied solely to unincorporated natural human beings. Clear distinction shall be made in all laws between unincorporated natural human beings, and incorporated human beings. Lack of said clarity renders any law, regulation or policy void. No corporate privilege shall be referred to as a “right” in any government publication, but shall be addressed by the full term “corporate privilege.”
Once a constitutional convention is called, they can do whatever they like. The last one certainly did.
But whatever they do is meaningless unless it’s ratified by the states. So the real question is what assurances do we have that the states’ ratifying process will honestly reflect the will of the people?
Yeah, one can find it in the 2nd Amendment.
All I can envision is complete and utter chaos. I don’t trust any of my elected state legislators. Not one of them.
In his Commentaries on the Constitution of the United States, Justice Joseph Story wrote that a government that provides
no means of change, but assumes to be fixed and unalterable, must, after a while, become wholly unsuited to the circumstances of the nation; and it will either degenerate into a despotism, or by the pressure of its inequalities bring on a revolution.... The great principle to be sought is to make the changes practicable, but not too easy; to secure due deliberation, and caution; and to follow experience, rather than to open a way for experiments, suggested by mere speculation or theory.
Those who view the Constitution as a *living* document will have a field day. Chaos.
I think the states will see the beauty of this “Convention of States.” The Federal Government has been sucking money out of the states with unfunded mandates and costly regulations taking state treasuries to the limit. They should see this as the path to economic freedom from the Federal yoke.
