Zaki Shalom says that Hillary Clinton's ties with centrist Democrats and her doubts about Obama policies bode well for Israel.
The prospect of a Hillary Clinton presidency has many Israeli analysts wondering what will become of the relationship picking up the pieces from Barack Obama. Will those proverbial pieces be thrown in the garbage for good, or will she glue them back together? Despite the fears of many conservative Israelis, there is a sense of optimism from several security and political experts in Jerusalem that Obamas policies will be an extreme episode in the history of Israeli-American relations, even if there is another Democratic president in his wake.
Hillary is a very pragmatic person, says Zaki Shalom, an observer of Israeli-American relations at the Institute for National Security Studies. He illustrates that her perspective on Israel and the conflict with the Palestinians is very, very different than that of Barack Obama.
I think that the event that would shape her attitude toward Israel is in the first place is the total failure of Obama to move ahead with the peace process.
Shalom says that the Obama Administrations approach from the outset was misguided in Clintons eyes and hamstrung her in her ability to wage effective policy or mediation between Israel and the Palestinians. As his deputy in the position of Secretary of State, she went along with Obamas novel approach to place the onus on the Netanyahu government and highlight Israeli settlement construction. Yet, she was wary of the idea from the outset.

A thinktanker Phd says Hillary was pro-Israel, just couldn't do anything about it. Were it true, says a lot about her management skills.
A blast from the past —
Cyrus Vance was Secretary of State under Jimmy Carter at the time of the Iran hostage crisis. When Carter ordered a secret military rescue, Vance resigned in opposition. Vance felt the rescue attempt was too risky, and did not even wait to see its failure before announcing his resignation
That’s what you do if you’re principled. You tell the president what you really think, and if the president’s policies really diverge, you step down.
Or you can be spineless about it.
It is, though Vance is the last I recall. I believe he resigned publically after the mission was over.
It also doesn’t aknowledge that Hillary has always been pro Palestinian not pro Israel.
Ho hum, just more posturing and politicking from one camp or another. Her years as Secretary of State were, of course, a real disappointment in many areas including this one. But try to tell that to those who think it is time for a “Woman President”.
I guess by the 90s, the path that Vance took was already seen as "old school".
Expert:Zaki Shalom is an early enlistee of the Former Twelfth Lady’s latest Presidential campaign...
The Clinton Crime Family staffs up.
Effective policy because she is so well advised by her top adviser, Huma (and, by extension, huma's MB family).
Dick Morris said while working for the Clinton Administration that Hillary hates Jews like the Devil hates holy water. He phrased it differently, but that was the gist.
I'd think these "****ing Jew Bastids" would know how anti-semitic she is. Don't take much for brains to figure that out.
I guess they’ve forgotten the time Hitlery kissed Arafat’s wife and called for an independent Palestinian state.
