I was reading a post-mortem on the delicious Sad Puppies/Hugo nominations imbroglio last week when an interesting point came up. George R.R. Martin, the "Game of Thrones" chappie, wrote on his Not a Blog that Sad Puppies commenters on his blog should lose the Social Justice Warrior, or SJW moniker. Because courtesy.

Really, what's not to like about “social justice warrior?” Does it come within a country mile of the mainstream Democratic talking point about a Republican “war on women?”
While the “war on women” is a lie, “social justice warrior” describes the average leftie exactly, and it deftly exposes their most egregious conceit, that they are all non-violent activists that just want peace and justice.....

This stuff with the Hugo’s is giving me hope that someday I won’t have to hide my conservativism to be published.

The SJWs pretty much make it clear that the Hugo’s are their baby and non-club members (non-libs) are not welcomed.
The SJW threat is now to go with No Award in categories where the nominees are non-SJW approved. They wohld rather destroy the Hugo than put merit over leftism

The answer to the headline question is “yes”. Self-appointed moral vigilantes love to run in packs and attack the weak. You see them everywhere from political websites to web comics’ comments sections. Social justice is theft, and they are proud and smirking thieves.
My analysis of journalism’s tendentiousnes led me contrast the left’s slant with TR’s famous “it is not the critic who counts . . .
But journalists ARE critics, nothing else - so they go to the opposite extreme and treat all claims of accomplishment as bogus. Thus, “You didn’t build that.” This cynicism is their way of denying the obvious reality that, e.g., John Rockefeller did a fabulously valuable thing when he converted local natural “pollution” into Black Gold by refining petroleum into fuels.
Cynicism about the very notion of private accomplishment goes to the.”rule or ruin” nature of the left. They prattle about “progress” BUT THEY LUST FOR POWER AND CARE NOTHING FOR PROGRESS THAT EMPOWERS THE GENERAL PUBLIC.
