Two leading GOP presidential candidates took extensive conservative catechism from their fathers—and it’s the mirror image of the right’s paranoid fantasy of Obama’s indoctrination.
The articles have already started to appear: “Who’s crazier? Ted Cruz’s Jesus-huffing father vs Rand Paul’s gold-shilling doomsday dad?”
Americans are already familiar with Ron Paul’s wild ideas and chin-stroking over his cost-benefit to Rand has been a staple of punditry since Rand first hinted at interest at his own political career.
But the equally far-from-mainstream opinions of Ted Cruz’s dad, Rafael, are not as familiar to a national audience. But if you haven’t already heard about his Obama conspiracy theories, homophobia or his unusually specific interpretation of Biblical prophecy, don’t fret: Liberal outlets have all put on lobster bibs and staked out space on Rafael’s lawn for what is, in all honesty, probably going to be fantastic television.
You can already anticipate the pushback to such attacks: They are not their father’s keeper. I would advise the candidates’ offices to draft some fill-in-the-blank press releases (all ending with “does not speak for the Senator”) to save time.
This defense is not just predictable; it has the added advantage of being true. Of course no one is responsible for a family member’s opinions. If everyone in every family agreed on every political issue, then how would we bond with our spouse after Thanksgiving?

They certainly do. Bothe were brought up in families with both a father and a mother, and have lead mostly normal lives because of that. That, of course, is a serious issue with the Liberals who want fatherless households with mothers that are wards of the state, so the children grow up to be Democrats.

Neither Bill Clinton’s nor Barack Obama’s VERY SERIOUS ‘daddy issues” bothered Ms. Coz’a pretty little head. Let it be said, at least Cruz and Paul know their daddy. Neither Clinton nor Obama ever did.
So, weirdly psycho-un-logical. Since the progs project their issues onto their perceived foes. I have to assume a large part of their issues probably has something to do with a father that wasn’t there for them at critical times in their lives.

I've met Ted Cruz's father and he is a solid stand up buy, a fine man.

That is what came to my mind, as well. And, since when is it a negative on someone who looks to emulate his honorable, upstanding father, whom he admires? Why, all of a sudden, is that so wrong? I think the lib who wrote this article is the one who actually has daddy issues!
Not to mention his communist granddaddy that raised him for a chunk of his life. He’s the one who set Obama up in his teen years with Frank Marshall Davis as a mentor. Of course Frank Marshall Davis was very much part of CPUSA.
Ron Paul has a dark and nutty history, but they are attacking Ted Cruz’s father for being a minister in America’s second largest church denomination, second only the Catholic denomination.
Seriously, attacking a mainstream church minister as an unsuitable father for a presidential candidate, a minister in a denomination in which Bill Clinton and Jimmy Carter, and Al Gore were all members when they campaigned for president as democrats, (none of them are members today)?
This anti-Christian mindset of the left is reaching dangerous levels.

Liberal professors have trashed the liberal arts, by converting so many liberal arts courses into indoctrination centers for left-wing causes and fads, instead of courses where students learn how to weigh conflicting views of the world for themselves. Now a professor of English, one of the most fad-ridden of the liberal arts today, blames conservative critics for the low esteem in which liberal arts are held.
I scanned it...it is totally incoherent rambling and pablum. It is astonishing how incapable radical leftists are at building and expressing a thesis or an argument.
Ted Cruz and Rand Paul do NOT have serious “Daddy Issues”. Chelsea Clinton has serious “Daddy Issues”. A whore-mongering rapist who had sex with a little girl, close to Chelsea’s age in the Oval Office. That’s some serious “Daddy Issues”.
