Ayaan Hirsi Ali spoke at a National Press Club luncheon about the Islamic faith and Western civilization.
She also spoke about her book, Heretic: Why Islam Needs a Reformation Now, as well as Islamic radicalism, combating ISIS*, the nuclear framework agreement with Iran, and U.S. foreign policy toward the Middle East.

Where's the voice of the 900 million who deserve to be spared? If those are truly the proportions...which I doubt...then the reformation should come from within. I do not see nor hear any Islamic voice tolerating the presence of Christians, in this country or anywhere else in the world.

Simply look at Islamic states especially those which have adopted sharia law. They are repressive, treat women as second class citizens or worse and even the monied Gulf states are basically tribal societies. Islam is not compatible with individual liberty especially freedom of religion. When Attaturk abolished the Caliphate in Turkey and sought to build a progressive modern society, he totally separated governance from Islam and sharia law.
She’s one of the bravest and most intelligent women that I’ve observed in my lifetime.
