While addressing some 4,000 NRA members on Friday, Sen. Ted Cruz, the Texas Republican now running for the White House, challenged other Republicans running for office to prove they "bled" standing for principle while fighting Barack Obama, the Washington Examiner reported Saturday. Cruz, Pau Bedard said, mocked candidates in past primaries for being all talk but no action.
"There are a lot of good men and women thinking about running in 2016 and we've been around the block before," Cruz said in a teleprompter-free speech that lasted nearly 20 minutes. "We understand that in a Republican primary and everyone stands up and says, 'Gosh diddley, I'm the most conservative guy who ever lived.'"
But, Cruz added, "somehow actions don't always seem to follow those words." Now, he said, voters need to challenge primary contenders and dare them to "show their wounds," so to speak.
"For far too long politicians have said one thing and done another," he said. "Everyone of us should ask any candidate that shows up in front of you, 'You say you believe these principles, show me. When have you stood up and fought for them, when have you bled for them, and what have you accomplished?'"
"You know," Cruz added, "I had a former boss who used to say, 'If I'm ever accused of being a Christian, I'd like there to be enough evidence to convict me.'" He went on to say the same should apply to conservatives seeking office.
"The same is true of being a conservative," he said. "In a Republican primary every candidate is going to stand up and say, 'I oppose Obamacare.' The question we ought to ask is, 'Great, when have you stood up and fought to stop Obamacare!' And every candidate is going to say they

Wow!
Instead of electing “a Republican” thinking it is THEIR job to stop the Democrats, Ted is challenging all of us to fight them alongside him.
The candidate can’t win this alone. He isn’t some kind of “messiah” or Rambo.
Ted Cruz, so far, is saying all the right things!
I love this man!
Basically what Ted Cruz is saying to these other conservative pretenders is to show their street creed of fighting against liberals.
After the second pop-up I closed the link without reading it.
I have found the same message at 4 different sites. Something dirty is going on.
Mr. Bean ?
Exactly, the people who criticized Ted Cruz for sticking his neck out are usually the people who would never stick their necks out to battle the left.
Any candidate attacking Cruz doesn’t deserve to be on the stage! Any candidate attacking Cruz probably doesn’t ever intend to fight the left.
Ted is right. The real tell is what did you do to fight for the Constitution? There are only a few people who can truly say they did.
Give.Obama.Power. party: "Bled? Us? Me?
We ONLY bleed our stupid constituents ... to whom we lie.
Our King Obama, may he rule forever, is as terrific as his policies.
Long live ObamaCARE, Cuba, Iran ... and our GOP EXEMPTIONS."
Captain Obvious salutes you!

I remember Rand Paul the other day said something along the lines of, we ALL made promises, but when it came to it, those deeds were not feasible.
Liking Cruz more and more with each passing day.
I love that gif!
Cruz said in a teleprompter-free speech that lasted nearly 20 minutes.
Frankly, anyone who cannot deliver an articulate 20 minute address, without having to read it on an electronic device, should be automatically eliminated for consideration for any major public office. In a crisis, would we dare wait for an inadequate President's speech writer to tell him what to say?
I continue to believe that it is too early to endorse anyone for 2016; but I sure do like the Texas Senator.
A debate with other “Conservative” candidates will be enlightening and embarrassing for some.
A debate with the Democrat candidate will just be old fashioned fun like Zero’s first debate for 2012.
Even the “moderator’s” gotcha questions for Cruz will explode in their own faces.
I support Ted Cruz. Having stated that I would say that
staking out the “I am the biggest Obama hater in the
field” position does not appeal to me. Cruz should let
major supporters make that point. He should stick with the
facts demonstrating why liberal governance doesn’t work and
why his ideas do work. Sure, attack Obama but don’t brag
that you are the biggest Obama basher because it makes you
look like the amount that you criticize Obama is more
important than the reasons behind the criticisms.
Killer speech...
Oh yes. He has a premium on those. No Republican can touch him on talking and speeches that is for sure.
