Huh. Someone might want to tell them, I’ve always had sick days at any employer I’ve ever worked for! Yet another sham piece of legislation, like the lilly laidbetter act.

That’s unfair to the unemployed, they should get paid sick leave too.

Calling in sick is the real American Pasttime. Didn't think you needed a federal law to encourage it.

The problem I Have with this is the same problem I have with FMLA: people inevitably learn how to game the system and take the power away from the employer to hire and fire. I’ve worked in too many businesses where they could not fire an employee for lack of performance or attendance because they claimed FMLA despite every one of their colleagues knowing the person was gaming the system. This is an encroachment on business and should be stopped.

So did I. Actually, my last employer had “time off” — so many days you could use as sick days, vacation days or whatever.

Yes, exactly. Every place that I have worked had a system for calling in sick. Most employers are fair. Some are more tolerant of calling in sick than others, but I have observed that the more sick time that is available, the more sick time that is taken. All we need is to put the U.S. Labor Department in charge of this. We will be lucky to any work done at all.

She is the hidden face of evil behind Obama. There is a great need for a full investigative report on just who she is, who she knows, and where she came from (politically).

I suspect that there are a lot of earthshaking skeletons in her closet.

Last place I worked we didn’t get a set number of sick days. If you call in sick, you got paid 2/3 of the day if you were hourly. If you were salaried, you got paid anyway. Most people didn’t abuse it.

“sick days for every working American”

The idea is just one more bacterium of european socialism. That said, their mindset of implementing it completely ignores the self employed (I’m assuming it does. I ain’t listening to Reptile Woman hiss out some words.) It shows how the left cannot fathom that thing called “independence”.

No, microaggressions are. And if you question what problems are America's biggest it's a further act of microaggression/thought crime.

It raises prices for the customers of every business in America. (Well, the FED wants more inflation!)

Of course it doesn’t raise the prices for customers of foreign businesses.
So foreign products will get even more ‘cheaper’, and US employees will either get less money or less jobs.

If only these plans were limited to apply just to the idiots who can’t do math...

Who pays? Is this a government mandate that burdens an employer to provide unearned benefits?
