Lots of chatter in the last few months about the military moving some things back underground, that they had moved to other sites in the 1990's/2000's.
This is the first confirmation of it I have seen.

Comrade dictator obama probably worked out a secret deal with Putin to allow Russia to base their nuclear weapons within United States territory. That will save them a lot of rubles on delivery systems and subsequently reduce the carbon footprint associated with nuclear war.

Hardened structures have been around a long time. To think all of the sudden we just learned of EMP is nonsense. All highly critical military equipment is hardened.

12 I watched as he opened the sixth seal. There was a great earthquake. The sun turned black like sackcloth made of goat hair, the whole moon turned blood red, 13 and the stars in the sky fell to earth, as figs drop from a fig tree when shaken by a strong wind. 14 The heavens receded like a scroll being rolled up, and every mountain and island was removed from its place. 15 Then the kings of the earth, the princes, the generals, the rich, the mighty, and everyone else, both slave and free, hid in caves and among the rocks of the mountains. 16 They called to the mountains and the rocks, Fall on us and hide us from the face of him who sits on the throne and from the wrath of the Lamb! 17 For the great day of their wrath has come, and who can withstand it? Revelation 6: 12-17
That awful scenario, which will happen someday, sounds to me like a global magnetic pole shift, causing worldwide and massive earthquakes. The Bible describes global leadership retreating to their bunkers (like Cheyenne Mountain). The dust kicked up would be devastating. The "sky rolling up like a scroll" sounds to me like incredible roll clouds as the atmosphere attempts to catch up.

Did we REALLY move our capabilities out into the open, given the size and capabilities of the Russian (and Chinese for that matter) arsenals? Hint: they never went away.
Are our generals THAT STUPID? REALLY?

As best I can tell, there is no country with the ability to adequately strike with an EMP force. Russia is barely able to get anything to work. China has a good option but it is largely untested and they have no interest in blowing up all their Walmart stores. North Korea is just making noise.

Recent declassification of EMP studies by the U.S. government has begun to draw attention to this dire threat. Rogue nations such as North Korea (and possibly Iran) will soon match Russia and China and have the primary ingredients for an EMP attack: simple ballistic missiles such as Scuds that could be launched from a freighter near our shores; space-launch vehicles able to loft low-earth-orbit satellites; and simple low-yield nuclear weapons that can generate gamma rays and fireballs.
