Keep the guns. Outlaw the gangs. Make gang members register as a group, and every time a gang banger kills someone, or commits another crime, punish the group. Gang membership should be punished with mandatory castration. Random gangs, like thugs playing the knockout game, should receive the same treatment. Anytime a group of thugs, male or female, gang up on someone, for whatever the reason, the offending thugs should be treated as gang members, sterilized, imprisoned, and fed goop. Larger gangs should be considered assault gangs, and given worse punishment.

Gang bangers are the last ones I’d have expected to see reducing their carbon footprint from drive-bys to walk-ups.

Change the law so gang members get one strike and they’re out. Gang members kill someone and it’s an automatic death sentence - to be carried out within one year.

This level now puts some parity to the playing field. Don't know how successful it's going to be, 'cuz bangers like overwhelming odds in their favor. So they'll probably change their target victim from spry white males to little-old-lady-with-blue-hair females. If they stay in the big northeastern cities, they should be fairly safe still. If they venture down south or far west, where little old ladies grew up knowing how to kill rattle snakes in the back yard near the kids, they may be in deep poo-poo again.
