A longstanding alliance between Jewish voters and the Democratic Party no longer appears very durable.
The rift aggravated by a nuclear deal with Iran and sour relations between President Barack Obama and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu will likely have political implications in the 2016 elections, The Wall Street Journal reports.
"At this moment in time, many American Jews who have consistently voted Democratic are beginning to waver in that support, because they've felt the bedrock relationship between Israel and this administration has been severely shaken," Rabbi Howard Buechler, of the Dix Hills Jewish Center in New York, told the Journal.
Republicans think the shift in loyalties could influence key Senate races in Florida and the Philadelphia and Chicago suburbs, the Journal reports.
For example, the Journal notes, a new email petition sent out by the National Republican Senatorial Committee urges people to sign and "tell Obama it's now time to stand with Israel and Prime Minister Netanyahu."
Alan Kessler, a longtime Democratic fundraiser based in Philadelphia, told the Journal that Pennsylvania Republican Sen. Pat Toomey might have an easier re-election run because he's a dependable supporter of Israel.
"It could make things more difficult" for a Democratic challenger, Kessler said.
Other Democrats worry that Jewish voters may want to punish some Democratic House and Senate members who boycotted Netanyahu's address to a joint session of Congress last month.
"Many fellow Democrats of the Jewish faith were appalled" that lawmakers didn't show the prime minister "the respect and courtesy of being in the audience," Democratic fundraiser Leonard Barrack told the Journal.

You are correct!!
Not to worry about the democrats Jim, I just heard the other day that because of our Muslim immigration policies they will outnumber Jews in America
“And”
Why? Defies logic? ...unless they believe money will save them from tyranny?
“Jews are liberals first and Jews second.”
I would change that to:
“Liberal Jews are liberals first and Jews second.”
In fact you can make that into a general rule:
“Liberal Xs are liberal first and X second”. X can be anything.
I would go even further, with:
“Politics trumps everything!”
- which actually makes a lot of sense, since, when boiled down to its essence, politics is, above all, about “perceived self interest”, and what’s more important to each one of us than our self interest?
Let's not get ahead of ourselves...calm down...breathe...breathe...whew...thanks, that was close.
We can count on the Jews coming home between now and November of next year.
So far obama hasn't done a single thing he hasn't advertised his entire life. So, he hates Jews, So what! He did up to 2008, and Jews came out for him in droves. He hated Jews the whole first term. Still they came.
Democrats have tried everything but pogroms to drive Jews away. obama just asked Iran to mount the biggest pogrom of them all. Democrats should make a commercial of that and watch it attract Jews in 2016 in the best showing ever.
Who knows why Jews love the Party that despises them? Hating Jews just works for Democrats. Why argue with success? I live in Rush's Realville.
American Jews voted and raised money for Obama....twice.
And they called me a racist, a sexist, a homophobe, a bigot, a hatemonger, a teabagger and an anti-Semite when I didn’t.
So all I can say now is: enjoy your president.
And that they stop supporting the RATs with their campaign contributions. The problem is that for too many Jews, their “religion” is Marxism. Face it, the MSM is now the “entertainment business,” and the Jews that run that business are JINOs, but they have loads of money and influence.
“Israel is among the most tolerable places for all sorts of people in the Middle East, why arent more people recognizing that fact?!!!”
I think the word you need to use is “tolerant.” With hostile countries surrounding it, I doubt that Israel would fit the word “tolerable.”
“Somethings gone wrong with that community...”
Yeah I’d say, one of them married Chelsea Clinton!
You can say the same about virtually every other minority.
Democrats hate blacks, believing them incapable of achievement and stupid. Blacks vote for them, nonetheless.
Democrats hate Asians, believing them unfairly capable -- thus, putting roadblocks in their path. Asians vote for them, nonetheless.
Democrats hate Jews, as you point out. Nonetheless, Jews vote for them anyway.
Jews are liberals first and Jews second.
It’s sad but true in my life experiences with Jewish friends, co-workers, subordinates and bosses.
Two things Jews must do and do quickly to reverse the suicidal path they’re on.
1. Get out of the democrat party and stop supporting those who will destroy you.
2. Get out of Europe NOW! History is repeating itself before our very eyes including the idea that there is still time to leave.
Do you know any politically conservative Jews?
I sure don’t.
I figured. :-)
I do,you also may want to look at these two groups as being very different. I have been to Israel and the Israelis are not in love with American Jews. And American Jews come home after a visit and feel relieved and go back to being who they are. One feels safe the other does not. We do not need them. We should get over it. They are not going to change, they can’t change. Also let the American Jew find out the hard way that this country is in a weird place for a few more years. The Jews in Europe are getting it. The American Jew did not get the memo yet and when it does it may just ignore it.
IT’S ABOUT TIME!!!!!
Well it's been a freaking hellish LONG TIME COMING.... MORONS!
If, indeed, it's coming at all. I'll go out on a limb here and say the dem nominee will get 50+% of the Jewish vote in 2016.
It's a tough nut to crack. Democrat policies harm most people because they are anti-freedom. Nevertheless their minority constituents support them where it counts. Is it a death wish?
Main steam Republicans push people aside to be the first to board the Democrat train.
