How does the Mormon community react when one Mormon tells lies about another Mormon and brags of the lie's success.
I don’t know know much about Mormons. I have known a lot of Mormons and am related to a few converts, but other than knowing how they shun family members, I am not curious about it to educate myself. I consider them somewhat of a cult.
How could they make millions? Usually building is expensive?
Not “unless” they pay enough money, the money is required.
Good Point.
The Catholic Church went from the Inquisition to forgiving Kennedys and pedPriests.
I see that they’re not done.
Nevada was settled by American Indians and others long before mormons came on the scene. Get your facts right.
Romney, who was a Stake President has told us that his family all became pro-choice in 1963, and that his mother ran as a pro-choice candidate for the Senate, in 1970, a fact that he is very proud of, he says.
“My position has been the same throughout my political career, and it goes back to the days of 1970, he said. There was a woman who was running for political office, U.S. Senate. She took a very bold and courageous stand in 1970, and that was in a conservative state. That was that a woman should have the right to make her own choice as to whether or not to have an abortion. Her name was Lenore Romney, she was my mom. Even though she lost, she established a record of courage in that regard.”
Here are some excerpts from his interview with Jan Michelson.
Mitt Romney: “Because thats not the nature of the office Im running for. And there are people in my Church who are pro-choice. That is not against my Churchs view to allow people to have their own positions on political issues
”
Mitt Romney: “Im proud of my faith. There is nothing I distance myself from. There are Mormons in the leadership of my Church who are pro-choice, and they do not violate that. You’re not a lawyer, but you have to read that a little bit more carefully. For instance my Church says, that if you have sex outside marriage that you could be excommunicated. Now, do we make a law that says that? No”
Mitt Romney: “And every Mormon should be pro-life?”
Jan Mikelson: If thats what your Church says.
Mitt Romney: “Thats not what my Church says! There are leaders of my Church who are pro-choice. Youre wrong. Thats your problem.”
LDS, Inc is ALL ABOUT THE MONEY!!
I love how you leave so many ambiguities in your statement that it could mean many things.
Wait, Reid does that too!
Sorry, that makes me laugh.
If Reid is giving 10% he could kill and still, get a TR
BINGO
My question: How does Harry Reid afford a year round suite at the Ritz Carlton in DC on a Senator’s pay?
The Mormon leaders examine the level of Harry Reid’s holiness and devotion to Mormonism every two years, if he is less than exceptionally devoted, then he loses his Temple status and access to the inner secrets of the Temples, and his I.D. which allows him to enter them.
If Reid ever falls short of the highest levels of his faith, then he becomes a regular Mormon, and would have to attend the normal Mormon churches.
Harry Reid was born in Nevada and converted in college, where are the ambiguities in post 107?
What's 10000 x 100000?
What's the net worth of LDS, Inc?
What is 10% of income of whatever the mormon church say's is it's membership...per year?
Do you know what entities the mormon church owns?
Do you know what percentage of their net worth is given to charity every year?
Romney was wrong.
He loses it if he gets ex-ed.
Glad I could add a bit of laughter to your day :)
No, Bishop and Stake President, and lawyer, and Mormon Royalty, Mitt Romney, does not appear to have been wrong.
How do you think that he could run for office on such positions, and not lose his Temple status?
“I am encouraged by your spunk...”
Lol. Thank you, that is the nicest thing I’ve heard all day :)
I think you misunderstand that it really is a real vote. But what has happened is that tradition has made people just go along with whatever is presented. The bishop will probably pull that person aside to discuss their concerns. Bishop has final say and that’s where people get into trouble. The ones that don’t accept that authority, whether right or wrong, can end up fighting their way into disciplinary action.
Had this conversation with a stake president regarding a certain bishop who. Sustaining a leader doesn’t mean you have to agree with them. But it means that you will support them and help them. People are human. Nothing is ever going to be perfect.
He has always been a devout Mormon. Not all LDS are GOP or conservative, in fact many are Democrats. It wasn’t until the 1950’s that any LDS even thought of being GOP. The GOP was founded, in part, against the Mormons (polygamy) and unincorporated them. For a long time the LDS hated the GOP and many still do.
Reid is a faithful, active temple attending Mormon
Actually it is true in many cases. I was asked by my bishop for a copy of my tax returns because he did not believe I was paying a full tithe. When I refused he called my boss (also LDS) to find out how much I made. I also know many others who had to hand over their W2s to get their recommend.
Thanks you Ansel for answering the OP and proving my point - it is ok for LDS to lie.
