Budget legislation passed by Congress last week includes cuts to some welfare programs, like the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
The cuts have already attracted backlash from left wing activist groups like the feminist group UltraViolet, which launched a campaign to petition Congress to restore the funding.
Overnight, the U.S. Senate voted for a budget that literally takes food away from hungry children, UltraViolets campaign pleads. The budgets that have now passed both the House and Senate make deep, painful cuts to the food stamps program.
TurningPoint USA responded with a little digging. Heres what they found:
After a brief search on Twitter and Instagram, Turning Point USA uncovered more than one hundred documented examples of welfare recipients abusing, mocking, and making light of welfare programs. Ripe with abuse, Twitter users attempt to sell food stamps, trade the stamps for weed, and purchase expensive food items.
Several of the social media posts use the hashtags #EBT, #EBTgang, #EBTcard, #EBTsquad, and #TeamEBT many of which depict a culture of glorifying the use of Electronic Benefit Transfers (EBTs.)
A few examples of the Instagram posts from TurningPoints investigation:

Gee, who da thunk it?
The USA. Where the “poor” people are fat and all have cell phones.
Some?
I had a lib admit to me that the fraud and abuse was tolerable as long as everyone that needed help got it.
In the early ‘70’s I was a clerk in a grocery store near the projects. The people who paid with cash (no credit cards then) usually bought the cheapest meat. The people who paid with food stamps bought most of the steaks. I now know they were selling the steaks at cents on the dollar so they could buy liquor and drugs. That game still goes on today. I had a renter move out in August and leave the refrigerator stacked with steaks. The power was off. What did she take? The beer.
> The poor in America live lifestyles which are the envy of half the worlds population.
And they don’t even has to pays fo it ‘cuz its freeeees.....
Gomer can't believe it.
I try very hard to avoid shopping near the first few days of the month to avoid at least some of this crowd.
Every Black on EBT knows how to scam the system and they pass the knowledge on!
Slight edit, if you don't mind:
The USA. Where the poor people are obese and all have cell phones.
Now they buy a lot of convenience foods (like frozen sausage biscuits) so they can sell them.
EBT: another liberal social program in which good intentions somehow equates to good results.
People can’t get high school educations, but they are professionals at gaming the system. Its a different level of knowledge, not one that is ultimately productive to society.
My late son was on food stamps and I guarantee you, he did not abuse them
Ok this is making me so dam pissed. I have been unemployed for now 2 years sending out resumes without getting any calls and I did file for Food Stamp but only to be refused so I reapply again a year later only to be accepted. I am getting only $58 per month which is ok because I do not have children. However, with the prices going up on Veggies and Meat doesn’t leave me that much. So by the middle of the month it is all gone. Also, I can’t go over a certain limit or else they will stop or cut my benefit. Tomorrow I’m planning to pawn my grandmother’s ring to get some milk, and perhaps some meat, because right now my refrigerator is totally empty.
To see their cart filled up how much are they getting? There are people who are truly in need of it and yet these bastards are getting away with it. God I hate Democrats! Also what I notice that being single I feel you are penalized when applying for assistance. Looks like I have to have screaming kids with me to get better assistance.
One way or another I will pick myself up by cleaning houses or whatever it takes to keep myself afloat while these Jackarses enjoy their weed and stuff.
It was a rhetorical statement.
We’re giving a ton of EBT cards to illegals and I know that a lot of people abuse this tax-payer provided gift.
