C-SPAN this morning just had on Mark Will-Weber talking about his book Mint Juleps with Teddy Roosevelt: A History of Presidential Drinking.

He had a lot of interesting stories about various Presidents. I hadn't realized that John Adams was such a serious drinker (but was good at consuming a lot without showing the effects). Thomas Jefferson encouraged wine-drinking and opposed "the bane of whiskey." Andrew Jackson had his own still at the Hermitage. FDR was a heavy drinker but Teddy was a moderate drinker.

Will-Weber had one photo of Obama in an Irish pub drinking Guinness. If he knows anything negative about Obama's drinking it didn't appear that he would be likely to reveal it.

It’s interesting how President Ford, who as quarterback, let the University of Michigan to it’s only undisputed national championship, gets portrayed as a stumble bum, While Obama, who can’t even zip his pants without instructions on a teleprompter, has stumbles such as this regularly, and they are ignored by the press.
