Indeed. Perhaps Russia would find that useful to plant Russians in Alaska whom it would then protect from the “immoral West.” Of course, the bridge could easily be knocked out, but perhaps Putin believes Alaska will be theirs in the future, judging by the overall reaction of the West to its moves thus far.

They should take care of the dirt roads they have first. Many between town roads that are heavily traveled are dirt in summer and a quagmire in the rainy season. The Wehrmacht found that out the hard way.

Right. I’ve read a few histories of the German army in Russia and the conditions. But today you’d think they’d do something about the inter city roads.
