The gist of the article is poor Bowe was going to "headquarters" to report that his superiors were being MEAN to him.
And then he was going to return to base.
So the spin begins.

Hmmm, never been in the military but my dad was. I think I remember him telling me there’s this thing called “chain of command”. You don’t do squat w/o permission, especially go to headquarters on your own. If that’s the best he’s got he’s toast............hopefully.
And right after I ROBBED the BANK I was planning on giving the money back. /s

If he can prove he planned to return, that eliminates desertion. But does nothing to undermine collaborating with the enemy. Solution: Fine, not a deserter, but execute anyway.

What a Schmuck and this admin used him as “Cover” to relase some really bad people. I think Obama used deserter Bergdahl to intentionally piss of some of the top brass so he knew who to fire (the ones who objected over this)...
