PHNOM PENH, Cambodia, March 26 (UPI) -- Michelle Obama's tour of Asia to promote girls' education was marked by blunt criticism from Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen, who said the first lady was "playing around" and using hopeful rhetoric about making improvements but not guaranteeing aid.
The Phnom Penh Post reported that Hun Sen told U.S. embassy personnel and USAID workers Wednesday that Obama's Saturday visit with 10 schoolgirls in the Cambodian city of Siem Reap, part of the White House's "Let Girls Learn" initiative, was good but not enough. He said the U.S. government should promise scholarships – if it sincerely seeks improvements to education reform in Cambodia.
"Her mission is very good, but I suggest the United States should help completely and not play like this," the Cambodian prime minister said.
Obama's visit has led to a request from his education minister on Tuesday for state university scholarships for the 10 students who met with Obama on Saturday.
"What if she chose 300 students? It would be death. I don't have that money to give."
The girls' education through the 12th grade is being financially supported by a Room to Read, a U.S. NGO that promotes literacy in Cambodia and other countries.

The mainstream media keeps talking about the educational value of this trip for the first daughters, Malia and the other one.
The first daughters refused to go on this trip. Michelle went with her posse and her large staff.
The MSM won’t admit that the spoiled children refused to go.
She doesn’t give a damn. She is only doing it to justify another taxpayer funded vacation. Just like meeting the Spanish King to cover for her Spain trip for her and 40 friends on your dime. My God, I really loathe these people..
I'll be glad when the funding is cut off in 22 months.
I was just about to post a question as to where the kids were. Last I heard this was a spring break thing for them. I really have no use for them either. Neither one ever looks really happy to have what they do.
And as far as the wookie goes she just made the trip because she could. Gotta jam a whole lot into the next 2 years.
Dear Mr. Prime Minister,
Mrs. Obama is merely a TOURIST to your fine country.
No one over here elected her represent any of us in any way whatsoever.
Take her to the souvenir stands, stamp her passport, and send her on her way.
And if she misbehaves, put her in your delightful Phenom pen for a while.

Keep the wookie home where she can do less damage.
There was a thread, either here or at conservative treehouse, that got into the whole story of the girls’ refusal to take the trip to China. They were adamant and Michelle went without them. Of course the MSM won’t publish a word about it.
BTW don’t worry about the girls missing a vaycay. They had their ski trip to Utah. And we don’t have to see their angry faces in China.
Apparently the PM doesn’t read the news as the school in Barry’s hometown in Kenya is still waiting for their science lab that he promised them.
