On Fox News, Greta just reported that the NY Times is reporting that regarding the plane crash in the Alps, one pilot was unable to return to the cockpit during the flight.
Wow!!!, must have been the video that served with distinction.

Only a few planes need a Flight Engineer, the usual third person.
Well, it can’t be blamed on the Amish this time. They don’t fly or travel on airplanes.

So might this be the first crash involving the reinforced cockpit doors required after 9/11?
If so, this isn’t the way it was supposed to work out (but then that’s true of most regulations).

If it were terrorism, why not drive it straight into the ground in a steep decent?

Based on information being reported, could be a medical issue.
Did the airlines not think this could occur when a pilot leaves the flight deck, leaving just one at the controls?

If I recall right, at least for USA Airlines, for two man Cockpits if one leaves a Flight Attendant must sit in until he returns. Seems like sound policy, someone needs to lock up the re-enforced Cockpit door assuming one Pilot must be seated at all times. Did the Pilot whom remained behind go Allah Akbar on the Flight Attendant? Hard to know why the relatively orderly descent if murder by Pilotcide? Can’t rule out a Pilot having a medical emergency, but if a Flight Attendant was supposed to be in there with him Lufthansa will be sued out of business and rightfully so.
Possible - now we need to know whether there were any sounds picked up indicating the remaining pilot was conscious or not. No sounds, no manipulations of any kind mean it may have been a health issue.
