The real problem is Congress will not get off its butt and declare war (its constitutional prerogative) on IS, ISIS, ISIL, Hamas, Al Qaida, Hezbollah, etc.
Instead, they quibble with Obama on whether to pass his suggested use-off-force resolution to go after a limited group for a limited period of time so that that may become co-conspirators in ignoring an existential threat to the USA.
I can’t decide if this guy is just a go along/get along fool, way leftist front man recruiter for the school, or so stupid that it really needs to be a criminal offense. How many times did the U/C use the words “Islamic State” without even a flicker of recognition from the Dean? Whatever the reasons for his reactions and comments, he should not be in a position to affect the lives of anyone’s children.
Every alum who gives two $hit$ about the country and it’s future should cease ALL donations and demand an accounting. Any who stay quiet and accept this should be labeled as part of the problem and condemned as well. Specifying which department/program donations are intended for is not a defense, that just gives them more to spend on the likes of this idiot dean. Make them declare, by how they allocate funds, what their priorities are. Just stop supporting this kind of crap from any of them.
How about publishing a book that contains pictures of Mohammed or printing replicas of the Charlie Hebdo cartoons? Would the Assistant Dean permit that, in the name of encouraging all points of view and academic freedom? Inquiring minds want to know.
