I’m enjoying Rush’s discussion about rights. It’s my perception that there are very few actual rights: life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness are pretty much it. Everything else falls into the categories of power, privilege, or license.

Most people have this backward. The Naturalization Law of 1940 makes the father the conveyor of citizenship in out of wedlock cases, especially when the mother was not in a legal position to grant citizenship (residency requirements).
