Less than a day since Sen. Ted Cruz jumped head first into the 2016 GOP presidential race, conservatives are fighting over his electability, with Fox News analyst Charles Krauthammer's rip that "we already tried a first-term senator" taking fire from the right.
Even Krauthammer's fans took to Twitter and Facebook to criticize him for being too quick to write the Texas senator off before his campaign even got going and the early primary and caucus states had a chance to hear his message.
Among them was Mark Levin, one of the nation's top-ranked talk radio show hosts and star of the Mark Levin Show.
Levin, on Twitter, wrote: "Krauthammer, who voted for Carter and Mondale over Reagan, tells conservatives what's wrong with Cruz." Krauthammer wrote speeches for former Vice President Walter Mondale in 1980, the year he and former President Jimmy Carter ran for re-election and were soundly defeated by Ronald Reagan.

Charles Krauthammer is NOT a conservative.
Levin is preaching to the choir
You win by getting your base excited.
Obama and Reagan are proof of this. The squishy middle just wants someone who appears to be strong in his convictions, and follow.
It is telling to me that the MSM theory is Republicans always have to be “moderate” and the Democrats can be the most radical of anyone to be elected. Very telling, and counter-factual, as the middle leans right, if anything.
The “choir” that is shooting spitballs at the preacher’s back? That choir?
Cruz can win as long as conservatives are willing to step up and help him win it.
Give till it hurts.
Volunteer to knock on doors and make phone calls.
Campaign for him in social media relentlessly.
Find your personal stick and swing it.
I do graphics and will be flooding social media with them.
Post a couple of Israel/Jewish ones, so I can steal them and distribute.
Krauthammer is to conservatives what Obama is to Americans.
NE liberal Elite wants to keep his Conservative role playing gig alive and well at Fox as well as the invites to the Washington cocktail circuit. It’s an act. Krauthammer and all of those pundits are libs. They just play conservatives on TV.
Levin is right. I like Kraut and when he’s right he’s really right. But he’s also wrong sometimes and he’s not as severely conservative as he would like people to think.
I thought Donald Trump was foolish to let Kraut run him out of the race in 2012. I thought he was foolish to lower himself to call Krauthammer and then let Kraut basically dismiss him and then go on TV and say he did it.
Kraut, Will, Kristol, Rove, et al are all going to try to push out the conservative in favor of a moderate.
All about the Cruz missile! Time to destroy the libs once and for all
I have never really understood what is supposedly to great about Krauthammer.
Certainly life in a wheelchair isn’t easy and I admire that....but his commentary is something where I have a hard time seeing the purported brilliance.
He sure sounds like one to me. Maybe you are just reacting because he had the temerity to question Senator Cruz' experience.
The squishy middle wins by splitting the conservative vote. The right wing MUST unify behind someone, warts and all, or we’ll get another Romney.
I did not know that. ..very enlightening.
That Faux Conservative @ MSNBC, Joe Scarborough is big-time Cruz Hater!
Which ever presidential candidate attends the annual Bohemian Grove CA. meeting, they’ll be the next person in the WH.
I’ve always thought that Krauthammer is a fine analyst but not such a good strategist.
