That usually happens when people are speaking about things they passionately believe in.

And let's not be too hasty about Walker as a constitutional conservative. He has no track record voting in DC. We got fooled by GWB, drawing conclusions from what he said and things he didn't have to address as governor.

I'm confident in Cruz. My suspicion about Walker, not having a DC voting record, extends to any potential candidate who doesn't. We've been burnt too many times by fancy constitutional conservative rhetoric only to have phonies traitor us before the even unpack in DC.

As Mrs. BE and I sat and watched it, we ticked off all the ‘hot buttons’, the things we wanted to hear spoken by a politician, and they all seemed to be in there.

Before television, we had statesmen. Winston Churchill, for example. Who could speak intelligently on virtually any subject and who could think quickly on his feet - always able to come up with a witty remark when he needed to.

Now we have a lot of empty-headed photogenic politicians with $500 haircuts and who need a teleprompter filled with words that somebody else wrote out for them. But they look good on TV so they somehow get away with it.

Ted Cruz...is a statesman.
