LYNCHBURG, Va. Hours ahead of an expected Monday morning announcement at Liberty University, Ted Cruz told supporters just after midnight that he was launching a White House bid.
I'm running for president, and I hope to earn your support! he tweeted.

Cruz/Palin.
The mans in Gear.hotly pursued by the enraged malcontent townspeople with their pitchforks and torches!!!
Cruz/Palin
Gotta put Allen West in there too. Perhaps as Secretary of State.
His videos are outstanding. I like him a great great deal. He has my vote I think. I hope he can withstand the onslaught from both sides.
I am going to send him $100 today.
I remain convinced that Sarah Palin is destined to be president — hopefully in 2016. But if she does not run, we’ll need conservatives to enter the GOP primaries to take on Jeb.
Cruz is certainly not the ideal “true conservative,” but he’s acceptable.
I’d prefer Palin/Cruz.
I have thought this would be a good ticket also. True conservatives still like Sarah Palin and I’m one of them!
That's a big f'n deal, as Plugs Biteme would say.
The fifth-column media will now begin its outrage in a constant diarrhea flood of leftist hate propaganda against Sen. Ted Cruz and his entire family.
I’m in.
Cruz 2016!
The good thing about Ted is he knows how to fight back and is willing to do so.
How about Cruz / Walker
Palin as Sec Interior
West as Sec Def or Sec State
I move we close the nominations. Move seconded. All in favor? Aye. Meeting adjourned. (That’s Chicago style in case you didn’t recognize it)
I am also pretty sure Cruz, as president, would bomb Iran. And if Russia tried to interfere, he’d bomb them, too. We need a president like that.
(1) anyone who opposes the Second Amendment (the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall NOT be infringed!), sorry Cristie,
(2) nor will I support anyone who supports Amnesty (criminal behavior should not be rewarded with an easier path to citizenship than for those who immigrate legally as my ancestors did), sorry Cristie, Bush, Rubio, and Romney,
(3) nor anyone who supports Obamacare (the crony capitalism of rewarding chosen businesses and the redistribution of wealth are both unconstitutional and well outside the Enumerated Powers), sorry Cristie, Romney, and I suspect Bush.
Rand Paul is more than a little quirky, although not as crazy as his father, but I could support him. Scott Walker strikes me as mostly good. I'm not sure I trust him on Amnesty, but a conservative Congress could certainly push him into doing the right thing. There are other good options. But Cruz is definitely the best.
I hope those who agree will contact Cruz's campaign and volunteer time - and money.
The last time I checked, the "conservatives" in Congress were few and far between and on the amnesty steamroller for the most part.
When was the last time the American people had a presidential candidate whose resume showed him to be OVERWHELMINGLY QUALIFIED for the office? I've met Cruz and his family in a nonpolitical setting and they are the real Americans it is a pleasure to talk to. Ted Cruz is the man for the office.
Of course first, the Potomac will need to be diverted through White House to flush out the reeking stench of the previous squatters.
