Deputy Secretary of State Anthony Blinken tried to reassure skeptical lawmakers on Thursday that any nuclear deal the Obama administration signs with Iran would prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

Blinken, accompanied by Adam Szubin, acting Treasury Department undersecretary for terrorism and financial intelligence, came to Capitol Hill as his boss, Secretary of State John Kerry, was in a fourth day of talks with Iranian officials aimed at closing the remaining gaps in the two countries' positions.

"The negotiations have been substantive and intense," Blinken told members of the House Foreign Affairs Committee. "We've made some progress on the core issues. Significant gaps remain on some of the other issues."

Significant gaps also remain, however, between lawmakers' concerns and the administration's ability to soothe them, particularly as they relate to

prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.

Note the use of the singular. There is more than one satan... and the bigger one will need a lot more than one.

That “absolutely cannot and must not happen,” ....

Traditionally, when one branch tells another co-equal branch what they must do, the other branch rebels. Hopefully that holds true here.

“Deputy Secretary of State Anthony Blinken tried to reassure skeptical lawmakers on Thursday that any nuclear deal the Obama administration signs with Iran would prevent Tehran from developing a nuclear weapon.”

To think we have people in offices higher than janitor this delusional, arrogantly ignorant, and naive, is dumbfounding. They absolutely have the attitude that what they say means something, but they are unwilling to threaten any sort of consequence for any act, no matter how heinous, unless the person is white skinned.

Iran not only has no regards for any US ability to enforce anything, it treats the notion of evading and deceiving as a chess game. UN inspectors, untrustworthy as they are are RIGHT NOW TODAY stating that Iran is cheating on U enrichment, even while the admin is saying they are in compliance. It is a total Orwellian conjunction of truth and lie: One must be true, one must be a lie.

And people wonder why I have a very dim view of the State Department.

Before the cards and letters start coming, I am sure there are very dedicated and sound on policy people in the State Department. Unfortunately the leadership is almost never characterized by either of those traits.

Israel will never stand for this crap no matter hard The Islamic enemy agent made President of the US by Democrats tries to make Iran a nuclear power. The second Israel gets the intel buh- bye to Irans nukes. This is why the The Islamic enemy agent made President of the US by Democrats was hoping Bibi would lose the election because he knows Bibi will not idly stand by as Iran gets the bomb. He will have failed his Islamo bros.

nully-the-psychic says:

Here’s the deal:

If Iran says they’ll stop their nuclear weapons program, obama will give them 10 fully functional W88 warheads with the PAL codes (00000000 in all cases)

The announcement to the American public will be made after the warheads have been physically transferred.

Frankly, why need Obama and the State Department if we have to listen to the Iran leadership shaping our policy? Just like the other stupid liberal the other day who wants to do nothing about Turkey smuggling ISIS oil and yet says we are responsible for ISIS.

Every so often somebody has to remind the State Department that they’re supposed to be working for us.

The problem we face is just like our nuclear weapons,
we haven’t used one in 60 years and now nobody believes
we will. Conversely we haven’t hanged a diplomat or
politician in far too long.

We are supposed to be represented by the Department of State, not the Department of Surrender.

It appears we will have to wait until at least 2017 for that, if ever.
