predation, not human activity, has reduced birds numbers. A coalition of rural Western counties and business interests is contesting the science being used to decide whether to list the Greater sage-grouse as endangered or threatened, accusing the Obama administration of relying on selective, false and biased research.
Denver attorney Kent Holsinger filed three Data Quality Act challenges Wednesday with the Department of the Interior on behalf of the coalition, which includes the Western Energy Alliance, ranchers, mining and drilling companies and 19 counties in Colorado, Montana, Nevada and Utah.
Weve documented real issues with transparency and scientific integrity
...
The steadfast reliance and perpetuation of flawed information reveals these agencies arent as much interested in sage-grouse conservation as they are in controlling our economy and Western way of life.

The EPA is using a common wild game bird that tastes like chicken to coerce rural populations into federal compliance using the fraudulent and easily politicized label ‘endangered’. The millstones of taxes and regulation as Lenin said.
The federal EPA needs to be disbanded. Every state has their own anyways.
States don’t need them either.
No, we do not want a return to pouring PCB laced oil on roads and smoke pouring into the air from thousands of smoke stacks. But neither do we need each and every wet spot and tree regulated either by state DENR’s or Corps of Engineers.
The Data Quality Act is a tool that every conservative needs to learn about and use. In a nutshell, DQA is used to challenge junk science used by fascist federal agencies to impose fascism and destroy property rights. With DQA, every federal agency can be tied up in litigation for years.
A coalition of western counties and ranching, mining, and energy associations filed three Data Quality Act (DQA) challenges to feral agencies BLM, FWS, USGS, USFS, EPA ... challenging the reports the agencies are using to justify top-down restrictive measures that will damage western communities in sage-grouse habitat while discouraging more effective state and local conservation efforts.

Thanks for the ping!
It’s great to see these groups going after the phony science and speculation by these government agencies.
Heads should roll in these agencies and many should be be eliminated entirely.
Federal and state Biologists conspired with each other to submit bogus lynx fur in a forest study and had no explanation for their failure to follow protocol, a House subcommittee learned in 2002.
And if they hadn’t been caught, the false results would have become part of the final study, according to a General Accounting Office (GAO) investigation.
The GAO probe contradicted earlier testimony that the false submissions were isolated from one another and that there was no collusion among the employees.
When the topic turned to the employees’ motivation, the audio feed from the hearing was mysteriously cut off. An employee at the Longworth House Office building said it appeared to be a technical problem.

It still lights my fire when I think about the lynx fur fiasco by those supposed biologists.
Caught red handed submitting a fraudulent sample and it was covered up, they should have been terminated and not a dang thing happened to them.
It’s still happening in these agencies.
Fortunately, the outfit I work for is non-political, and is quite vocal about this. They understand that once you take a side, your data will rightfully be suspect. Plus, like anything else, once you throw away your integrity, you're throwing away your business too. Goodbye future contracts.
These DQA lawsuits seem to be great way to challenge the integrity of any "scientific study."
You couldn’t be more right, Fly.
It seems as the years have gone by integrity has been sacrificed by some who’d give it up to make a buck or two.
The thing about it is those that do have to live with that throughout their lives, I imagine it’s an unpleasant way to live out their years.
