Laws or no, history shows that we have always had the grifters, con-artists, and snake-oil salesmen around. Many of them even get elected to public office, where they have better access to the treasury.

Ever heard of 'snake oil salesmen' who went from town to town peddling their 'climate change' 'patent medicine'? How about "peace in our time"? How about "I did not sleep with that women."?
As the French say, "plus can change, plus c'est la meme chose". The more things change, the more they remain the same!
