Personally I think the combination of Cruz and Walker is a winner. A midwest/south ticket cuts right to the core of flyover country.

Previous to Walker being governor, the position of lieutenant governor was a figure-head, at best. Walker has tasked his lieutenant governor, Rebecca Kleefisch, with economic development growth efforts. She has been heading councils, meeting business-leaders, working with municipal leaders... in an effort to bring businesses and jobs to Wisconsin.
It is also allowing Rebecca to begin building her own political connections, should she choose to run for, say, a vacant governor’s position...
Walker doesn’t want to leave Wisconsin headless. He is doing a great job of building future leadership.

I tend to use the second amendment as my "indicator." It is a good way to identify those that agree with me that government is really the enemy, or at least the potential enemy. If you oppose guns, you are either uneducated or the enemy. If you are ok with guns, but emphasize hunting or personal protection, then you are likely just uneducated. If you acknowledge that guns protect citizens from enemies, foreign and domestic (including the government), then I agree with you.
I use this when selecting books for my kids' schooling. I use this when listening to politicians. I use this when identifying friends (and enemies).
The problem I have with using illegal immigration is that in many parts of the country it is not a significant local issue. I moved from Southern California to Wisconsin. Night and day the difference is. Funniest thing to me was seeing white people doing landscaping.
With Walker focusing on Wisconsin problems it probably never entered his mind as an issue. Now that he is looking at national issues, he is having to form an opinion on this and many other non-Wisconsin things. It appears that he is forming correct opinions. Unfortunately a "gotcha" attempt, along with selective quoting, makes it seem he is softer than he appears to really be.
It will be interesting to watch as he figures out his positions on these things.

Not so much for President Reagan, President George H Bush, and of course, the demon Walker.
I will always vote for the more conservative candidate. I think that’s what Ronald Reagan recommended. If Jeb runs against Hillary and you can convince me that Hillary is the more conservative candidate I’ll either stay home or vote for her. Otherwise I will crawl over broken glass to vote for Jeb.
Who the hell is Scott Walker? Suffice to say he’s the person most hated by the Left today, certainly reason enough to vote for him. Fortunately, there are so many more reasons to vote for him.
I could be wrong, but as I understand it, Obama’s big immigration plan has a massive problem, a judge sitting right on top of it.
I’m not clear on what the exact status is, but this judge stopped something in it’s tracks.
Obama can go ahead and play games, but if this judge’s decision is upheld, all the normalization is dead in the water.
BTW: I agree that fiscal responsibility is a big must. Cruz strikes me as the type of guy that wouldn’t just let that coast. He’d get some advisers in there to help. I wouldn’t be surprised if he would ask Walker to give him advice too.
The United States has NEVER had a path to citizenship for illegal immigrants. While it has been granted from time to time, it’s not on the books.
To reference that matter as if it’s always been on the books, isn’t accurate at all.
This is a very big deal. I still say we either have 30 plus million illegals in country, or tens of millions of them have already be normalized behind our backs.
I’m pretty jaded across the board when it comes to illegal immigration. That’s my go to subject. Sure I expect there to be support for the Second Amendment, but that’s a given. If that isn’t there the guy is dead in the water.
Too many of these ‘great guys’ have a pathway plan. To me that is a cop-out. It’s just smoke and mirrors and boy have I had enough of that game plan.
I do not want to see illegal immigrants granted the keys to the kingdom for their treachery.
They can go right back home, and I don’t care if they’ve been here 50 years and have all sorts of property.
People who chose to break the law, can damn well face the music when they are caught.
They made the choice to submit to the penalties when they circumvented the laws on our books.
If someone wants to feel sorry for someone, fell sorry for the taxpayers that had their wallets stripped so illegals could get government services for free.
‘Path to citizenship’ outside of already established immigration law is amnesty. Period.
Amnesty indicates future violations will not be tolerated, so even ‘amnesty’ is a lie. It is open borders.

So when someone starts the pathway talk, and it not being an amnesty, they’re telling me right there that they don’t mind lying to my face.
I swear I don’t get why these idiot politicians are so motivated to help illegal aliens of the citizens of the United States.

The judge has stopped it for now but the Justice Department is appealing. The case will ultimately be heard by the Supreme Court. Meanwhile the illegals continue to stream across the border and the State Department continues to resettle legally hundreds of thousands of UN designated “refugees” in the US under existing law. Refugee resettlement is responsible for the Somali communities in Tennessee and Minnesota. There have been news reports the administration will bring 100,000 Syrian refugees into this country in 2015.
In addition, there have been reports the administration has been quietly issuing hundreds of thousands of social security numbers and green cards despite the judges orders.
Finally, Congress did appropriate the money to fund Obama’s amnesty program when they had the power not to fund it. When the case goes before the Supreme Court you can bet the administration will argue Congress did not have to appropriate the funds. The funds were appropriated by Congress so he has de facto approval by Congress of his actions. Case closed. I can easily see the Roberts Court buying into this logic.
I don’t necessarily disagree with your thoughts here. I can see that progression as well. I can also see a good man like Cruz in the Oval office in two years, asking his Justice Department to vacate the case.
I stridently disagree with the refugee immigration these days. It’s a flagrant attempt to water down and destroy the national unity of the United States.
In the early 1900s, there was a moratorium on immigration for several decades. IMO< that sort of thing needs to happen again right now.
Early during a Conservative administration, that needs to be put in place.
It’s my hope that the court will either refuse to overturn the lower court, or it will find a way to stall until a new administration can return this nation to some form of sanity.
