Yesterday I tried to post an article from Media Matters regarding the "Bush White House email controversy," which is an issue being raised now by Hillary supporters to counter the allegations around her email account.
After I went through the whole procedure to set up the post, I finally got a message saying that Media Matters is not welcome on FR.
I was disappointed, because I think that we all need to know what the Hillary supporters are saying in her defense, and certainly need to be able to counter their arguments when confronted with them.
So today I looked for a different source, and found that Wikipedia had an entry about the "Bush email controversy." So I tried to post that here, for the same reason, and with the same result -- Wikipedia.org not welcome here.
OK, fine. It's Jim Robinson's website, and I have enormous respect for him and his right to decide what may or may not be posted here.
HOWEVER, it would really be a kindness if there were a way to determine whether a source may be posted here BEFORE going through the whole posting process, only to find out at the end of it that the source site is blocked, which is rather irksome. It would be a time-saver and a courtesy to know what is or isn't allowed here before trying to post something. And that goes for sites that must be excerpted as well.
If there is a list of these banned/excerpted sites, I haven't found it, so I'd appreciate some help.
Also, I really would like to see some response to the Bush email story that is now appearing in many places on the Internet as Hillary undergoes her public scrutiny over her email issue. You can read about it here: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bush_White_House_email_controversy
when confronted with them just laugh in their face and then ask if all their parents children are retarded.
Updated FR Excerpt and Link Only or Deny Posting List due to Copyright Complaints

I don’t find Media Matters or Wikipedia on that list. Besides which, that’s a pretty obscure link. There should be a link displayed at the top of the forum page, perhaps under key words (i.e. “Banned sites”).
That is most of the limited sites due to copyright issues.
There are few others, like MM, RT, Wiki that are junk content and banned from FR.
I dont find Media Matters or Wikipedia on the list at that link. Besides it’s a pretty obscure link. There should be a link displayed at the top of the forum page, perhaps under key words (i.e. Banned sites).
On the home page - http://www.freerepublic.com/home.htm - look for “General Copyright Statement”. The paragraph includes a link to forbidden sites.
If they are banned, there should be a place to find that out.
You already found that out, so now you know.
If you don’t like the way the web site is run, you are free to create your own.
If you want to complain to Jim Robinson, the owner of this site, good luck with that.
You have been here since 1998 and you don’t know that Media Matters and other leftist promoting sites are typically banned?
So sue me if I haven't memorized the list of banned sites including those that aren't named in the Copyright link.
You don't need to get snippy with me, Noobie.
Okay old timer, sorry for trying to help you catch up.
Cheers!
Agreed.
For like reasons for posting, I get around that by simply searching for a 3rd-party that reposted.
Impossible to discuss or be aware of what the enemy is doing if we completely ignore what’s important to them...
(know your enemy)
I guess if you consider having the link on the Free Republic home page "obscure", then okay.
After being here more than a decade and a half, you might consider reading it.
God Bless and have a great day!
No, there is no written ‘not welcome here’ lists.
the best way to approach this is to try previewing the link and source name before going any further.
I don’t know how you preview the link and source name. I tried doing that on a blank post field, but it still wanted all the other info.
I understand as I learned all this many years ago, simply put one character in each of the other required fields.
Only three required I see for news/activism are :Title, topics (that must be valid one like 'Government') and body of thread.
Use this to see if it rejects source or source URL
