NBC/WSJ POLL: At 59%, Support for Same-Sex Marriage Hits New High
NBC News ^ | 03/10/2015

Almost six in ten Americans say they favor allowing gay and lesbian couples to enter into same-sex marriages, the highest level of support ever recorded in a NBC News/Wall Street Journal poll.

In the new survey released Monday, 59 percent of Americans said that they favor same-sex marriages while just 33 percent said they oppose them.

View the full poll results here.

The numbers have shifted dramatically in the past decade. In 2004, only 30 percent of Americans said they supported same-sex marriage, while 62 percent disagreed. Half of those polled at the time said they strongly opposed allowing gays and lesbians to marry.

Democratic pollster Fred Yang noted how quickly public opinion has shifted on the issue, even compared to interracial marriage, which is now almost universally accepted.

"It took about 25 years for interracial marriage to get from 30 percent support to 60 percent," he said. "It took same-sex marriage ten years."

The share of the public backing same-sex marriage has even jumped from just two years ago, when 53 percent of Americans backed it and 42 percent did not.

That's due in part to big increases in support among Republicans (up 13 percent since 2013), seniors (up seven percent), and Hispanics (up 18 percent).

In fact, a very distinct minority of this minority will ever want to embark on such a relationship. This has been the case in other countries and it will be the case in this one.

In Texas, the supreme court case is about two lesbians who got married out of state wanting Texas to recognize their marriage so they can get divorced under Texas law.

“love” is a good bumper sticker meme but it has NOTHING to do with the actual issues.

I loathe the pravda media.

There’s no point to voting on it. Even amending your state’s constitution is meaningless when the corrupt governor (who was butt buddies with the homosexual murderer Jim Jones) refuses to defend it in court.

It’s about tearing down the institution of marriage.

Plenty of single women are for it. Single women with kids or who don’t want kids or marriage.

Ain’t NOW’s Feminism grand?

Tell a bunch of lies and threaten people hard enough and you can get them to think that a stick of butter is their mother.

Yet another example of how a decade of endless media propaganda can make people think that even things that are bad for them, are good

And that's all it is.

That is a means, but it certainly is not MERELY that.

It is an assault on the love of God, in the name of the devil’s hate. Too much concentration on the artifact will cause loss of focus upon the Author.

I couldn’t find where the article indicated how many people were actually included in the poll. Did I miss it?

I suppose the trick of politically motivated pollsters is to conduct multiple polls which address the same issue and then brag about any poll whose results promote the agenda of the pollsters.

The trends for the marriage amendments are not positive, in my opinion. I mean if I told you in 2000 that in 2012 North Carolina would be where 2000 California is on “gay marriage,” would you have believed me? I wouldn’t have believed me. But that’s exactly what happened.

Pay me to conduct a poll.

Tell me the desired result.

You will get it.

They could have polled Cambridge, Mass., Provincetown, Mass, and West Hollywood and San Francisco. Then the pollsters tell you they polled from Boston to San Francisco.

Means nothing.

The bit of news the poll ignores is God is still 100% opposed to this and he casts the ultimate vote. So tho the nation may cave to PC stuff He never changes.
Good luck America because you are under a judgment that will take you out just like ancient Israel was.
I suggest to any Freepers that have not read it. Read : The Shemitah by Messianic Rabbi Jonathan Cahn.

I don’t approve of pretending that two (or more) men, or two (or more) women can actually be married to each other. However, no matter what government might officially recognize, I will never consider those legal contracts to be in any way comparable to real marriage.

In principle, political polling is supposed to be oh-so-scientific. Yes it can be, if immense pains are taken to maintain the integrity of the samples and the process. It also costs way more and takes way longer than a lightning phone poll with misleading questions.

If the culture could get back to Mother Nature’s truth that marriage is unique in that marriage is for the fostering of the love between a man and a woman, expressed in sexual intercourse which may result in a child and that every child deserves such a begetting, and that in “homosexual marriage”the physical, psychological and physiological parts don’t fit, maybe things could change.

Ultimately, marriage for pleasure alone, whether homo or hetero, Is not a true marriage. We just cannot sever sex from babies deliberately without consequences.
