In a sharp jab at Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker, President Obama on Monday criticized Wisconsin's newly-signed law to prevent workers from being obliged to pay union dues as a "sustained, coordinated assault on unions, led by powerful interests and their allies in government."
"I'm deeply disappointed that a new anti-worker law in Wisconsin will WEAKEN, rather than strengthen workers in the new economy," Obama said. "Wisconsin is a state built by labor, with a proud pro-worker past. So even as its governor claims victory over working Americans, I'd encourage him to try and score a victory for working Americans by taking meaningful action to raise their wages and offer them the security of paid leave."
"That's how you give hardworking middle-class families a fair shot in the new economy not by stripping their rights in the workplace, but by offering them all the tools they need to get ahead," the president added.....

Let the market decide.
...Wisconsin Gov. Scott Walker said he would continue the subsidies for now but phase them out once ethanol producers are assured access to markets. I think eventually you can get to that, he said. But you cant get to that unless you deal with market access....
...Saturdays forum also was an opportunity for likely contenders to display knowledge of rural issues and connect with Iowas farmers. Walker waxed nostalgic about growing up as the son of a Baptist preacher in the small Iowa town of Plainfield, where he said he learned that farming isnt just a business, its a way of life.....
I support biofuels and ethanol. ... I also dont think Washington should be picking winners and losers, Cruz said. ...
Walker said that he favored drawing down federal tax credits for wind power over time and opposed mandatory labeling of foods made from genetically modified crops. This is one of those where I believe its served its purpose, Walker said of the credits. I would support phasing that out over a period of time.

the “pro-choice” party that wants to give people the choice to murder unborn children on demand don’t want to give workers the same choice...
Would you like another vinegar and water Mr. President?
“new economy” = growth at a snails pace reliant on gov’t handouts...
The race will be run strictly for the electoral votes.
Wisconsin turned RED would be very helpful.
Well put! The perfect definition for the Left's total transformation [fundamentally transform] of America.
Florida has nearly as many registered Democrats as Republicans, a diverse Latino population, and pockets of densely populated urban areas. It is expensive to run a campaign in the Sunshine State and with 29 electoral votes, it is sure to be a battleground state for many more cycles to come.
Other states that currently fall into the battleground state category are Ohio, the centerpiece in 2004s election, Virginia, and Pennsylvania. These states will undoubtedly remain heavily contested, but there are others.
Nate Silver provided an excellent analysis after Obamas 2012 victory, noting the traditional swing states like Iowa that leaned Democratic as well as newer ones like Nevada and Colorado. This article looks at that trend to see how 2016 is shaping up.
These battleground states arise from social issues and changing demographics. Voter turnout is worth considering, but so are recent elections. The 2010 midterm put a lot of states in danger for the Democrats, but Obama still won many of them in 2012. Much can happen in 2 years."..........

Labeling Walker a Socialist Lite does not help your cause.
The irony of this president speaking for the “hard working” does not escape.
It's clearly not Walker, but you've had plenty to say on a thread that celebrates a conservative win.
Pretending a nonexistent theoretical “phase out” of wealth redistribution isn’t socialism lite doesn’t help your cause. Put down the Kool Aid. He isn’t the next Reagan. We’ll be lucky if he’s even Bush ‘43.
“In the interest of fairness and full disclosure, please reveal the candidate you are supporting”

Fairness has nothing to do with it.
As for full disclosure...
At the present, I would hold my nose and vote for Walker, Perry, Palin, and Cruz. Each has their own problems.
NONE of them is the next Reagan. Those projecting their wishes, hopes, and desires upon any of them as the next great conservative hope are denying reality.
I will not vote for Bush, Christie, Rubio, Huckabee, Santorum, Paul, Carson, or Graham.
Without the commie Union thugs, the Kenyan never would have made it to the White House.
Maybe you missed it but Walker wants to phase out ethanol subsidies...not continue them...
I’m sure you understand economics were as cutting off subsidies would have a very negative effect on farmers who have worked in the government largesse into their business model...
It’s prudent to wean them off rather than cut them off...
As for walkers amnesty position...you might want to check his website...
“Its prudent to wean them off rather than cut them off...”

You’re entitled to your opinion. It’s socialism lite.
Robbing the taxpayer a little less each year to hand money over to farmers for ethanol subsidies is still wealth redistribution.
The funds primarily benefit large agri firms, not the single farmer trying to support a family. Crony capitalism.
And let’s be clear. The “phase out” language is said with a wink and a nod, knowing full well it won’t happen. Designed to fool enough people to win the Iowa Caucus without getting labeled part of the establishment supporting the status quo.
How does Barkey know anything about Wisconsin ?
What is Sen. Ted Cruz’s game plan for ethanol subsidies?
And they will brag about how they had their dicks cut off with honor, rather than voting for someone that didn't meet their standards of purity!
Letts just call it a Liberty action...
You are right, this is not Scott Walker’s law. It was passed by both houses of the democratically elected State legislature, based on the vote of the people who put them in office. If Obama wants to “blame” someone have him blame the people of Wisconsin.
