More than 300 veteran Republican lawmakers, operatives and consultants have filed a friend of the court brief at the Supreme Court in support of same-sex marriage late Thursday.
The amicus brief, organized by former Republican National Committee Chairman Ken Mehlman, was filed for the four same-sex marriage cases the Court will hear on April 28 that could legalize the unions nationwide. In 2013, Mehlman marshaled a similar effort for the case that overturned Californias Proposition 8, which had banned same-sex marriage in the state.

Joh:8:47: He that is of God heareth God’s words: ye therefore hear them not, because ye are not of God.
Joh:8:44: Ye are of your father the devil, and the lusts of your father ye will do. He was a murderer from the beginning, and abode not in the truth, because there is no truth in him. When he speaketh a lie, he speaketh of his own: for he is a liar, and the father of it.
Why? Because in the current social/political climate, one is accused of homophobia, bigotry, hatred, etc. Nobody wants to he accused of those things. There is a fear of liberals and the media if you stand against homosexual marriage.
If only Romney had won.
ResultsBased on the 2013 NHIS data, 96.6% of adults identified as straight, 1.6% identified as gay or lesbian, and 0.7% identified as bisexual. The remaining 1.1% of adults identified as something else, stated I dont know the answer, or refused to provide an answer.
I wonder what these “brave conservatives” will have to say when Bible believing churches throughout the nation are sued and their clergy imprisoned for refusing to perform gay marriages.
This is coming and soon. I have no doubt about it.
ahaha so last millenium
Moral Standards have been made to seem so yes
I shudder to think of what life in these United States will be in another 30 years barring an enormous revival.
thirty years ago....most of what is “cool” today was ..unthinkable
gay WHAT??
The word marriage...other than the original usages has never been used for anything but similes...such as a Great Steak Married to a “fine wine”...The same holds true when used in references to Architecture.
Not even a “married” “gay couple”....could dispute the intent and ROOT of those uses of the word Married
Across the board Disimilars can be married..similars NO!
I’m with you!
It happens on the SC too. Liberal Justices are solidly united.
The establishment GOP do stick together when it comes to liberalism.
Zyklon B
This is the country I volunteered my life for?
I wasted years. Years.
You think this can go on another three decades?
Funny to see so many Libertarians, who say they love the Constitution and Federalism/10th Amendment, yet they support judicial activism when it comes to gay marriage.
Whatever. They’re horrible people and saying that they support something makes the prospect even more repugnant. Truly, their support is not a good recommendation.
Im hoping that there is a major reversal long before those thirty years would be over.
My grandson just graduated from High School....last year...and the future hw will have to bear up under does not to my eye look very wholesome, nor terribly safe
We all know that after the SCOTUS forces homosexual marriage on the country, gays will demand marriage from non-conforming conservative pastors and churches. All the militant gays need to do is find a federal judge willing take a civil rights discrimination case. That florist that refused to serve a gay couple didn’t stand a chance.
To avoid performing gay marriages, churches may need to go underground or maintain a low profile or stop doing marriages altogether.
With Republicans like these who needs Democrats.
You are absolutely right on...
These are the days we are living in:
“But realize this, that in the last days difficult times will come. For men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, revilers, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, unloving, irreconcilable, malicious gossips, without control, brutal, haters of good, treacherous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God;”...
[2 Timothy 3:1-4]
This is what we miss in this sinful state:
Do you not know that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived; neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor the covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers, shall inherit the kingdom of God. [1 Corinthians 6:9-10]
This is our only hope:
And such were some of you; but you were washed, but you were sanctified, but you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ, and in the Spirit of our God.
[1 Corinthians 6:11]
By His mercy, love, and grace this is the transformation in Christ:
Among them [sons of disobedience] we too all formerly lived in the lusts of our flesh, indulging the desires of the flesh and of the mind, and were by nature children of wrath, even as the rest.
But God, being rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, even when we were dead in our transgressions, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), and raised us up with Him, and seated us with Him uin the heavenly places, in Christ Jesus, in order that in the ages to come He might show the surpassing riches of His grace in kindness toard us in Christ Jesus.
For by grace you have been saved through faith; and that not of yourselves, it is the gift of God; not as a result of works, that no one should boast. For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.
[Ephesians 2:3-10]
I’m going to have a tough time keeping a straight(!) face and not making a face or laughing when some homo refers to his “husband” in public. I don’t think I could ever get used to that.
And now we’re going to have confused kids raised in a society where this deviance is referred to all the time? They’re going to be screwed-up, and the justices who push this on us aren’t going to be around to see the consequences of their recklessness.
oh i see... so you can “call on” the supreme court to do things...
How about several million of us “call on” them to find Obamacre unconstitutional
