Wisconsin Governor Scott Walker (R) declared there should be no amnesty on Thursdays Hannity on the Fox News Channel.
When asked what he believes should be done with illegal immigrants already in the country, he stated there should be no amnesty. You should secure the border, not just for immigration reasons, but why would you put a fence around three sides of your home and leave the back door open? Thats what we have when we guard our ports, we guard our airports, we dont guard our borders beyond that youve got to enforce the law. We put the onus on employers to give them an E-Verify type system where they have access to enforce the law.
Regarding DHS funding and funding for the presidents executive action on immigration, he said you have got to tie the two together, and instead of playing on defense you have got to play on offense and put the pressure back on the president and his allies.
Walker also expressed his opposition to Colorados legalization of marijuana and his opposition to same-sex marriage. He further said he supported the legal right for legal citizens to be able to carry and arm themselves

I will not vote for a candidate who doesn’t take the position that ALL of the illegals should be thrown out permanently and the border should be SEALED UP TIGHT.
There are too many who will not accept other than perfection.
In the meantime our dear Lefty pals got where they were by accepting things that were far from perfect from their point of view, until they got as “good” as they are now.
As vague as Scott Walker has been in his past statements on immigration, he has repeatedly claimed that he opposes amnesty for undocumented immigrants. That may not always have been the case.
A 2002 resolution passed by the Milwaukee County government and signed by thencounty executive Scott Walker expressed support for comprehensive immigration reform. As he has begun to lay the groundwork for a presidential bid, Walker has been deliberately ambiguous about his views on immigration, but the 2002 resolution, passed just weeks after Walker was elected county executive, called for allowing undocumented working immigrants to obtain legal residency in the United States.
In public appearances in recent months, the Wisconsin governor has steered clear of that position. He has walked a different tightrope, saying that he opposes amnesty but hinting that he supports some version of a pathway to citizenship for immigrants in the country illegally, provided that they pay penalties, complete a waiting period, and satisfy additional requirements.
Governor Walker does not support amnesty, the governors spokesman, Tom Evenson, tells National Review Online. Evenson says the 2002 resolution was stripped of references to amnesty before passage the reference to amnesty comes in an introductory paragraph and the resolution was, in fact, a substitute resolution for an original that was more strongly pro-amnesty and reinforces the governors view that illegal immigrants should face penalties before they are granted citizenship. The resolution, viewable here, did not mention or spell out such penalties, and expressed support for comprehensive immigration reform that would have provided greater opportunity for undocumented working immigrants to obtain legal residency in the United States....

If he means what is stated here, this is good news.
Remember that Bush said no amnesty in both of his campaigns only to say, “see ya at the signin’”
No amnesty means something entirely different to me than what John McCain means when he says it.
Scott Walker on “amnesty”.
FReep Mail me if you want on, or off, this Wisconsin interest ping list.
Frankly, to me it is deceitful to hide behind a “doesn’t believe in Amnesty” statement without defining exactly what that means - specifically. To me, any definition of “Amnesty HAS to include a definitive statement about ‘pathway to citizenship.’
In the interviews he was always talking about Legal immigration, but some found that hard to see. I saw it, but the problem was that the interview wasn’t really about Walker as a national candidate dealing with immigration.
It was Walker running as governor who as asked a non-sequitur question that he was dealing with off the cuff. His answer was legal immigration is good, it was good for his parents, and legal immigration should be encouraged for the hard working.
Some took the hard-working to be referring to the idea “jobs that Americans won’t do” illegals.
But he didn’t say that.
Welcome to the Obamanation.
Until/unless the economy improves.... Until/unless the threat of terrorism is addressed and resolved, there MUST be a moratorium on ALL immigration to the US.
P E R I O D
There is NO logic to challenge THAT!
It doesn't mean anything different to me based on what I've seen on mischaracterizations by his team and supporters on his answers to No Amnesty questions. To me his definition of No Amnesty doesn't include some sort of non-committal or denial of a "pathway to citizenship."
He'll have to do better. Much, much better for me to vote for him.
Thanks for the ping.
SoCon, I deeply respect you, but I disagree with you on this. I watched it. He was talking about legal immigration.
And you know I’m a Ted Cruz supporter. But I will not injure a good conservative who could very well be our number 1 or number 2 guy on the 2016 ticket.
And here he says it clearly: no amnesty.
There are no illegal immigrants. They are all international trespassing, invading law breakers.
We have to stop muddying the waters with terminology that can easily parallel over to what is legal residency and citizenship. This gives the supports of the invasion a narrative that the conservatives are racists.
A few weeks ago, I heard Walker tell Mark Levin personally, that he “didn’t think deportation was the solution”. If they aren’t deported, that means they’re allowed to stay. Sure sounds like amnesty to me!
