Guns can be dangerous in the wrong hands. But so are articles about guns written by people who dont understand anything about them.
Theres sadly no excuse to be ignorant about firearms. Theyve been around for hundreds of years. Theyre owned and operated safely by tens of millions of Americans each year. Our Constitution guarantees our individual right to possess guns so that we might be able to defend ourselves from those who would violently take away our freedom. Many gun controllers, however some of whom have bylines for major media organizations dont actually know the first thing about firearms.
Heres a good example of the kind of self-inflicted injury that can result from weaponizing an ill-informed opinion about guns and gun-related paraphernalia, courtesy of Ryan J. Reilly of Huffington Post:

Well, knowing them and their evilness, they would probably use a hit count to tout just how interested people are on doing away with all civilian ownership of firearms. Otherwise, why would folks be looking up the info. I see your point too.

My jaw dropped. Then I had a good chuckle. What a ignorant, sheltered, pathetic excuse for an intellectual.
I would add another to their 4 rules of gun safety. “Always check the chamber to insure whether there is a round there whenever you pick up and before you set down a firearm.” The means you will usually check the chamber twice every time you touch a firearm.
Chamber checking is one of my top rules.
