Sunday on CNNs State of the Union, host Gloria Borger was rebuked by former Homeland Security Secretary Tom Ridge, former Gov. George Pataki (R-NY) and Rep. Darrell Issa (R-CA) for the medias obsession with Rudy Giuliani comments last week accusing President Obama of not loving America.
Borger twice called the comments hateful, as the panel continued to refuse her prodding to attack Americas mayor.
I dont think Rudys ever going to get the dust from Ground Zero out of his lungs, Issa said. He was there during the fall of those towers so for him to take personally a president whose policies have left Israel hanging, have left our Arab allies not trusting us, have let ISIS, as the governor said, go from being called a JV Team as they took on more territory, expanding from Algeria to Iraq than, in fact, the size of Texas. So the reality is that Rudy has taken our debate, and I think we should thank him for this part of it, back to national security, to the key element that the president should be focusing on. He needs to call it Islamic terrorism.
But it was when when Issa brought up the media ignoring Vice President Joe Bidens many misstatements that Borger balked.

“Hateful comments?” I thought Candy Crowley was retired. Maybe she’s still coaching off the air; “Rhetoric and Lying; the Pros and Cons Considered.”
Only a mental midget like Borger could claim the discussion has been hijacked - by themselves. They would like to talk about important subjects but CNN’s need to belittle Giuliani has “hijacked the discussion”.
What?
Emperor Sans-cullotte must never be questioned.
Rudy told the truth and only the members of The Ministry Of Propaganda are upset about it. Anyone with an ounce of objectivity can see for themselves that what Rudy said was true.
Seems to be a new meme for the media...one Conservative says something they don’t want to hear, and they take it out on every conservative they meet.
They want to beat up every conservative who dares agree with Rudy, however thoses “rules of association” doesn’t apply to Obama who hangs out with Bill Ayers, Rev Wright, RevRunt $hopton, and other nefarious beings.
RUDY IS RIGHT!
The sad thing about Borger and other Libs is that by lashing out at Guilanni and others they open themselves up to the kind of crushing rebuke Issa delivered
By overreacting they undermine their own narrative. You’d think they’d learn that ignoring comments they find offensive is the fastest way to make them go away.
Yep. They didn’t expect Hussein to take responsibility for one of his own staffers calling PM Netanyahu “chicken sh*t”.
Good point! We should thank them for being obsessed with it.
Ever notice how freedom of speech is only protected for the Left by the Democrat media? That old hag, Borger, won’t bat an eye if Hillary assails her GOP opponent for “not loving America because he doesn’t want you to have medical care,” or “Republicans want the Poor to starve,” the old saws that Democrats have used for years.
A good answer for Republicans when chased into the rhetorical thicket by the enemedia, “ God knows who the Christians are. We can only surmise from a man’s actions and dedication to Christ’s Church whether a man is a Christian, as the Bible says, “By their fruits, you will know them.”
This bunch relentlessly bashed Bush for years. It is almost comical to hear them scream and yell when someone says that their beloved marxist doesn’t love America, as it was founded.
The truth hurts doesn’t it Gloria? Why don’t you start telling the truth and quit lying? You might even become a decent human being.
This youtube video shows him claiming to have visited 57 states in his campaign. That doesn't look like a person who loves a country enough to know a darned thing about it.
He ain't from around here.
We must never slander the prophet of islam....I mean obama.
Damn, when she said that I was praying that Issa or Ridge would bring up the hateful remark by Obama himself that Bush was unpatriotic.
And I wanted them to ask her if she called OUT Obama at the time for a hateful personal attack.
