Former House Majority Leader Eric Cantor is hosting a fundraiser for New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie next week.
Cantor lost his seat last year in a huge upset to former economics professor Dave Brat, who successfully marked Cantor as an out-of-touch member of the GOP establishment. Hell host a meet-and-greet for Christie with big Virginia donors next Thursday at the Jefferson Hotel in Richmond, Va., reports the Associated Press.
Christie is considering a 2016 run, but is not currently considered a top contender following weeks of low approval ratings in his home state and in key states, such as Iowa and New Hampshire. His ratings in New Jersey hit a record low last week, and those polled cited his attitude, Bridgegate, and concerns that his presidential aspirations are distracting him from his job as governor.
Hes been losing top state donors, some of whom are now backing former Gov. Jeb Bush a leading 2016 hopeful. Bush was in Richmond last week for a fundraiser with the Republican State Leadership Committee.
Another GOP hopeful, former Gov. Rick Perry, will visit the swing state Tuesday for a fundraiser hosted by the Republican Party of Virginia.

I bought and made my own signs to get rid of this weasel. I was agitating against him even before Dave Brat stepped forward to run.
Cantor is a weasel. If he is for something or someone, conservatives should know to run the other direction.
